yes, and feathered hair and an American accent in Medieval England were the greatest additions to Robin Hood of all-time.

P.S. They're Medieval jeans!

Hey dude, Morgan Freeman was awesome in that movie.

Russel Crowe has better hair in State of Play for Robin Hood than he does for the actual Robin Hood movie.

It will take an incredible trailer for me to see this since I consider Prince of Thieves and Men in Tights to be the last two necessary Robin Hood movies. Crowe is pulling off the look in that costume though.

Well, that explains it. When I saw Crowe on Letterman, I wondered, "Wait, is he doing a sequel to Gladiator?"

Next best thing...

Seriously, it's been almost 20 years since that POS, PoT. Time for another take on the character.

i do too ...cant believe it's almost 20 years old. im so tired of people hating on it JUST because of the accent issue. if you didnt like the movie, that's one thing, and even if you didn't like it just because of the accent that's your opinion, but i think it's such a weak and stupid reason to hate a movie

One of Mel Brooks funniest movie, of cause it was necessary.

Also on topic, singer Alan Doyle of the Canadian Celtic group Great Big Sea is playing Alan A'Dalaye.

It seem in this story the French will be the bad guys (I suppose they mean Normands)

Probably not necessary, but still a great and funny Mel Brooks film.

I loved Men in Tights.

"No, not Abe Lincoln, I said 'Hey Blinkin', hold the reigns man!"

"A chastity belt! That's going to chafe my willy!"

"That's right. Every time they make a Robin Hood movie, they burn our village down!"

I must be alone here but ever since I watched this movie, I have always found Cary Elwes to be very annoying. Seems like everybody I know loves this movie, but I didn't. And I even loved Blazing Saddles, so must just be I don't find mocking Robin Hood funny.

And they go great being watched back to back. All of these "Movie" parody's could learn something by watching some old Mel Brookes films.

I agree with you, again. Let's not make this a trend!

Seriously though, Morgan Freeman was awesome. But that movie was pretty bad. Remember the dual-arrow bit, or when they jumped on a catapult to go over the wall? Yeesh.

I'm kind of surprised to see Crowe with short hair for this, since from State of Play he already had long locks. Pulled it off pretty well in Master and Commander too.

However Crowe + Scott = I'm there. Even just Ridley Scott doing a new picture is enough for me to take note. Here's the rest of the cast:

Quote:
The main cast has already been announced: Russell Crowe as Robin Hood, Cate Blanchett as Lady Marion, Vanessa Redgrave as Queen Eleanor, Mark Strong as Sir Godfrey, Oscar Issac as King John, Léa Seydoux as French Princess Isabella, William Hurt as Earl of Pembroke, William Marshall and the Merry Men: Scott Grimes as Will Scarlet, Kevin Durand as Little John, Alan Doyle as Allan Adayle.

Agreed, those made the movie fun when I was 6 but at 23 those scenes no longer appeal to me, lol. As for Russell's hair he said he was actually just very tired of having the long hair, he'd had it for several movies now and just wanted a change. And hey anything resembling Gladiator for Robin Hood is definitely an approved image for me. I'm sure the first released image is like someone else mentioned it's probably from the beginning of the movie and not how he'll look throughout. And hey if it is, I'm still ok with it, I'm not sure how Crowe will look in a feathered cap though lol. Yes that has been used in many of the movies, but it's just an idea from hollywood, and obviously since the Robin Hood legend is so diverse he could easily not wear the hat and it's no more realistic than any other legend of Robyn Hoode.
