We're working on extensive shot by shot color correction of the 4K restoration, it should be out April to June.

Can you say if any of the new Eastwood titles be included in the big December sale?

Thanks for telling me, KL Insider. Does it look promising (plenty of detail and natural film grain)?

Happy to hear that! The 4K restoration has already been available on Blu for two years in the UK, but I've been avoiding it because of its atrocious color.

Agreed, it’s great news that Kino is doing proper color correction for this because, while the underlying new transfer looks fantastic, the color grade is... problematic to say the least. I very much appreciate Kino taking the extra time and expense!

The Noirvember sale is like the BD sale equivalent of the cocaine pick-me-up someone takes in between the two colossal back-to-back multi-week benders that are the October and December sales.

I imagine the sales team at Kino chatting, of course remotely, "These fiends went on a massive bender in October, but they may need something to tide them over until the next one in December. They're jonesing bad. Some of these fiends we're even e-mailing several times per day about when their fix is arriving from the last sale. We need to satiate these degenerates."

I wonder if Fergie from The Town stopped being a florist and went to work at Kino's offices, talking about 'doping 'em up good and proper'.

Crazy good prices on the Noir sets. I just finished Vol. 4 yesterday. Lots of obscure, yet fantastic noir goodies in those sets. At those prices, buy them up!!

Hey KL posse! I'm slightly late to the party as I'm dealing with some heavy health challenges this month but always happy to give my noir library a bump. It's a genre I find a lot of comfort in and KL has some of the best, most diverse selections within the genre by far.

La Prisonniθre may be a bit different from Clouzot's classics but it still makes a fascinating swan song.

Sexy, full of tension and with some fun psychedelic sequences. Despite the lurid story the film never feels exploitative and feels more like a woman's coming of age as she comes to terms with her sexual desires, and an unusual love story. And that ending...

I find this an easy recommendation.

Professor Echo's 4 step program and prescription for helping to deal with "heavy health challenges:"

1. Watch Blu-rays as much as possible.

2. Always think it's a chilly, rainy day (even when it isn't).

3. Get yourself a nice friendly drink (your choice for how friendly).

4. Watch Blu-rays as much as possible.

Repeat all of the above as needed.

Color 86 Minutes 1.78:1 Rated R
In a remote country house, a malevolent form of sleaze and terror is being bred. A crazy mother encourages her two sons - raving lunatic Frank (Gary Kent, The Forest) and his not-all-there brother Johnny (John Parker, The Love Butcher) - to kidnap young women and chain them up in the basement. The girls are treated like animals and then subjected to games that grow increasingly sinister and depraved. When the brothers tire of their playthings, the girls must be replaced. This undiscovered exploitation classic is every bit as morally corrupt as you’ve heard. Directed by Don Jones (The Forest, Sweater Girls) and shot by cinematographer Ronald Victor Garcia (Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me), Schoolgirls in Chains is an entertaining slice of early ‘70s sleaze guaranteed to delight and disturb.

From Richard Fleischer, the outstanding director of Armored Car Robbery, The Vikings, The New Centurions and The Don Is Dead, comes this swashbuckling adventure-comedy starring Oliver Reed (The Hunting Party), Raquel Welch (One Million Years B.C.), Mark Lester (Sudden Terror), Ernest Borgnine (Marty), George C.
