You're telling me, I bought Jaws and Blues Brothers on 4K at $20 each, then watched them drop to $10 a week later. Currently reeling with buyer's remorse with Knives Out 4K in much of the same way. Glad I waited and snagged that 1917 deal. Still haven't seen it, so $8 to watch on my setup will do just fine.

$31 is fair, but I'll be pissed if there's a $20-25 lightning deal in the near future.

But when something is released so close to this 'Black Friday' thing it's inevitable that it will drop, so people can't say they had no idea it was gonna drop. I see someone complained aboot JAWS and Spartacus too but I paid full price for them on release quite deliberately, I knew they'd end up in a 3 for £30 offer in a matter of months or even weeks but I wanted to 'support' them, if that makes sense, and the same goes for Blues Brothers. Modern toss like 1917 and Invisible Man I've waited on though, and am still waiting on in the case of 1917.

Finished watching the trilogy. Two skips in 1. 2 stopped, cleaned it and it went fine. 3 had one skip.

That's a great point. I held off on BTTF and now we see a significant drop. I paid full price for Jaws and then saw it hit $10 but I got lucky when it came to Blues Brothers... The moral of the story is that eventually it all evens out...

It does. I was gonna pay full whack for the Hitchcock 4K set, £60 Englandland pounds, but I jumped on the Italian Amazon pre-order of £28. And I hold out for offers on most new stuff unless it's a limited tat-laden set or steelbook or something, i.e. instead of spending £20 which will halve in price only weeks later I'll spend £25 or £30 (or more ) on something which I know will keep its value betterer.

I look at it like this: if I buy something upon release, I'm content with the price enough to do it. We all know everything drops eventually -- it's all a matter if you're willing to wait. I paid $25 for Goonies and Beetlejuice on release (which I rarely do), and I got to enjoy them. It stings a little bit when I see them both going for $10, but those are the rules of the game. For all the others I'm getting for $10 in BF prices, it does indeed even out.

not necessarily, if I hold out for a price drop , I end up waiting years and years and it never drops and then it goes OOP and then price goes up 10x

if I buy it right away.... the price drops by 80% within a few months, maybe even a week and never goes OOP not even centuries later

Was Amazon price matching or was it a lightning/limited time deal? Saw it on the front page and thought I would have time to pick it up in store somewhere after work but it ended so fast.

It was the same price at Walmart as well. Not too sure who Amazon was price matching though.

Just got this today. Man, I really HATE this cardboard sleeve packaging they keep using on 4k sets. Immediately took the discs out and put them in slim jewel cases.

Anyone else holding out for the UK Time Circuits set? I was very lucky to be able to order it a few months ago and now it's just a couple of weeks from release! I've been checking my order to see if I can flip it to a US address yet, but no joy yet. It will go to a friend in the UK otherwise, which is fine, but I'd rather have it ship directly to me if possible. I just watched an unboxing of the French version and it looks great!

I've got it on order (already bought the regular version because I just had to watch these) but now I dunno. With the two bunches of Middle-earth steels alone then Decembre is gonna be ****ing expensive as it is.

I jumped on it this morning because I was eventually going to get it anyway. I don't normally shop amazon but they gave me a free trial of prime.......... soooo fast forward towards today and here we are.

Not crazy about part 2 but that's like saying, "I'd rather go to the other Denny's but this one is good too."

Ugh! I read about that happening to several folks and kept holding my breath that mine wouldn't be cancelled. It hasn't been at this point, so I'm hoping that means I'm safe. Keeping my fingers crossed until it ships though!

I assumed they were matching Best Buy since that's where the majority of these recent 4K deals originated from, but I've not know Best Buy to run a deal for less than half a day. That seems more like an Amazon tactic, lol. Might've been Walmart since I think it was them who were gradually reducing the price over the last few weeks.

It probably was Best Buy but Walmart was the last one to increase the price. Went back up around 5pm EST. I have a feeling it will drop back down around that area again during BF.

Thanks, I'm hoping so. Was asking who originated the deal since I thought they might still have it available for that price instore (I'm assuming it's not as easy to change price midday instore as it is online). Brickseek shows the Targets and Walmarts by me have the higher price. Was actually at a Best Buy and saw the higher price on the shelf as well, but didn't think to ring it up to verify.
