I don't know why this get topic seems to get so little attention. Always find Kermode a very informative critic, even if I don't always share his tastes.

Apologies Jonathan for not seeing your post sooner. I keep checking threads I've recently posted in (as well as threads I've started).

Usually, the latest edition of The Film Review is first shown on the BBC News channel on Friday, not long before 6 pm. Occasionly, due to a news story or breaking news story, it's postponed to a later time (either on the Friday or during the upcoming weekend). That's happened today. It's being shown (hopefully) just before midnight tonight.

I like listening to Mark Kermode's opinions, even if I don't always agree with him. I don't listen to the film review radio show he does on a Friday afternoon with Simon Mayo, but I regularly watch The Film Review. They don't always have slasher horror films on The Film Review, so I would have liked to hear what he thought of the new Halloween film from two years ago.

I reckon people are more aware of the radio show than The Film Review since the YouTube Channel that uploads review segments is nearing 250,000 subscribers.

Here's his Halloween 2018 review from the official YouTube Channel:

I’m a regular podcast listener. There’s also Kermode & Mayo’s Home Entertainment Service which ran for 6 episodes on BBC4 a while back.

Thought there was an existing thread for the series Mark Kermode's Secrets of Cinema.

A new series (consisting of three episodes) starts on BBC Four next Monday night. Not sure if all three episodes will be about the same genre or sub-genre, but the show's title is sub-titled "British Comedy".

Pacific Heights is a terrific film. I like Michael Keaton, and for me this has to be one of his best out of all the films I've seen of his. By coincidence, I watched it over the Christmas period - it's on a region-free blu-ray from Sony.

I love the original Fright Night too. I remember getting this on VHS way back in the late-80's. Seem to remember paying nearly £15 for it as it was released by RCA/Columbia at that time, and most of their new titles cost between £12 and £15. I've no idea why I remember that......maybe because I wasn't earning much money at the time, so I was counting the pennies.
