Especially if you said it how I meant for it to be said, as if it was said by a stuffy, uptight English turn-of-the-century gentleman in a top hat and drinking a glass of port, wearing a monocle.

Just a heads up, Best Buy has the PDP-5020FD for $1,999. Thats there lowest ever advertised price! I know there was a post earlier about the KRP-500M for $1,799. I'd rather have the 5020, but either one will make you extremely happy!

Hmmm, I bought my 5020 at BBY for $2,299 (I think) a couple weeks ago. Can I get $300 knocked off the price?

I'll get going on that, thanks.

Hey, has anyone tried using the 5020 speaker as a center speaker?

You might have 45 days if you have spent more then $2,500 that makes you a silver member , then comes the premium silver. I'm a premium silver member , its nice cause you get 1.25 or 1.50 points for every dollar spent. I like getting $50 - $150 "gift cards in the mail with 12 months to use them. Hell ya get your $300 back & do it quick!!!

Exclusions:
The BestBuy.com Price Guarantee does not apply to competitors' offers; third-party offers; online auction sites; shipping charges; clearance, Outlet Center and open-box items (when price matching with a Best Buy store); items for sale November 27th through 29th, 2008; special offers or promotions such as mail-in incentives, gift-with-purchase and financing offers; services such as installation; or typographical errors. Best Buy stores in Puerto Rico have their own price match policy.
Unfortunately, after looking at BBYs website I think they may try to deny me due to the fact that it was marked as a clearance item. I haven't called them yet.

We still haven't decided on a piece of furniture yet. The wife is getting pretty pi**ed about having the living room in such a state. Whenever I get everything under control I guess I'll do some pics.

I'm at 156 total hrs (37 hrs thumbdrive files) now so I guess I'll watch Baraka tonight as our first black bar adventure.

Sunny, I noticed that awesome price also at Best Buy a few days ago. The Pioneer PDP-5020FD had an original list price of $4,000. This is the cheapest 2008 9th generation plasma screen that Pioneer makes and the Best Buy clearance sale of $1,999.99 is a real bargain. Warning: Most Best Buys in most states are out of stock on the Pioneer PDP-5020FD since many people are buying them at the $1,999.99 price. Once they are gone there will not be anymore. My local Best Buy was completely out of stock on new models. All they had left was an open box floor model for $1,749.99.

The Pioneer PRO-141FD was $6,999.99 plus $399.99 for the required table top stand. Best Buy no longer has the clearance sale on the Elite Pioneers. The PRO-151FD that use to be $4,999 is now $6,500. Also the Pioneer PRO-111FD sale price was $2,599 but now is $4,499.
The funny thing is they had another open box PRO-141FD at Best Buy that someone returned. Usually people that return the PRO-141FD do it because they did not realize that it does not have speakers or a tuner. If Best Buy and other places that sale the PRO-141FD would inform customers at the checkout that the display requires a surround sound system or stereo system then there would be a lot less people returning the product. Of course, some people take advantage of a 30 day or 90 day return policy at some stores and use it as a free rental period for their football party.

Hi there Fellow Kuro Owners, I own the 5020FD, (sweet)

Have gone thru the (necessary or un-necessary break-in) and was wondering if someone can give me a "proper" setting for Sporting events, (Sport Mode) Its that time of year, NHL Playoffs, NBA Playoffs, MLB getting into the swing of things, etc..... Lately I have just been leaving my set to the Optimum Mode. Which is a great setting on the Kuro, (Automatically adjusts the picture) from your viewing conditions. But I like the brightness the Sport mode gives, but maybe I got it set to high. Anyone here have a personal setting for Sport Mode, I would greatly appreciate it. Also wouldn't mind seeing some peoples Movie Mode settings too, just to compare with mine.

Thanks, and keep the Kuro Tradition alive!!! Damn I am so glad I bought this set, 3 months ago.

KURO'S!!! ROCK!!!

My Setup:
TV -- Pioneer Kuro 5020FD
Blu-Ray Player -- Sony
A/V Receiver -- Yamaha 6160 HTR
Surround Speakers -- Bose Acoustimass Series 6
Gaming -- Sony PS3 60gb
TV Tuner -- Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD
Remote -- Logitech Harmony One

Whats funny is BB had a open box 5020 for $2,079 but the price of a new one is $1,999!

Default Finally Did It

Last Friday, I broke down and replaced my giant 70" XBR 1080i projection TV with the 151. The "beast" was six years old, still marvelous, but there is no comparison with the Kuro.

Watched Sin City last night; I have no regrets, none.

Got it for $5K from Magnolia. It may go down lower; it may not. They were posting it at $6K, BB's website shows it at $6499, but that's not what you have to actually pay.

Side note: I got it in Woodland Hills (L.A. suburb), and there is no traffic in these places right now. They were eager to sell the unit, I'm sure there are good deals for folks willing to buy.
