I'm bummed for the theaters and their employees but I haven't went to a theater in years so for me this is exciting news and definitely makes HBOmax a must have.

So, how many years closer did this move us, as a people, to becoming those big fatties in the end of Wall-E?

Why do you think theater seats got bigger?

I don't get this logic. You're still sitting on your ass, regardless if you go to a theater or watch at home.

Do you think Dune will get its sequel now? I highly doubt it.

I doubted it already. I think the only chance to get both movies was if they filmed both at the same time. If Blade Runner 2049 didn't do well, this probably wont either. I love BR2049 and Villeneuve, but I'm surprised it got made with the budget and style it had and even more surprised someone signed off on him making Dune afterward. I feel fortunate to have BR2049 and will likely feel the same about Dune, even if we only get the one.

Yeah it's doubtful. WB will probably be losing money in 2021, if anything. If the virus does completely slow down by 2022, they are no longer going to take anymore risks. They are going to make movies that they believe will make them a profit to try and recuperate their losses for the next few years. Dune isn't a proven money making franchise and was already doubtful to make a profit even before this virus hit. So I don't see WB taking that risk and making a Dune: Part Two.

Pretty sure movie theatres back then were just white bedsheets on a wall with lawn chairs.

Why in the world would they do this. The Pandemic will be over by late March or April with the vaccine ready by then. How in the world will a film like Dune make a profit with it's 250million dollar budget. There goes the second part of the story.Theatres last days are counted.Sad world we live in indeed.Thank God for Blurays.

I'm hesitant. I'll let the guinea pigs try it first and see what happens before I do anything.

You're dates aren't even close. All the vaccines require a booster shot 30 to 60 days after the first inoculation date. Think the end of 3rd quarter 2021 to see major positive results.

A vaccine is NOT a cure. It's a deterrent

If Covid is still around in full force by the start of summer it will be the end of theatres for sure. There is no way they could survive one more year of this crap.Again thank god for Home theatres.

Home theaters is not going to be enough to give you the big budget films that you want, which is not 100% a bad thing. It just means studios have to be more creative storywise. But you are not going to see something like Avatar or Infinity War/Endgame very often, lets put it that way.
