Easy choice, The Wizard of Oz as it's already out.

I know you're not asking me, but I have the OLED C7 and a Sony X950H. They're both interesting in DV presentation, but a lot of the tone mapping is much better with the Sony.
However, it is possible that LG has improved their DV presentation since 2017. If you are willing to tweak settings per title, the OLED still kills indiscriminately in visual bliss.
Slightly unrelated, but pure white during dark scenes/backgrounds (subtitles, for example) on the Sony always makes me cringe. That bloom is non-existent with OLEDs.

they should do an Auro-3D mix, rather than Atmos
so it can get the Voice of God channel

Appreciate the feedback! As someone who's mostly owned plasmas in the past OLED seems like the obvious choice for my next upgrade but that's not the first time that i've heard dolby vision was lacklustre on them. You also hear about blacks crushing shadow detail in dark scenes, etc. Might wait another year and see what 2021 brings to the party. I don't like the fact that they've actually downgraded several things on this year's CX including peak brightness.

Check out what Vincent has to say about next year's OLEDS. Possibly more nits to come, and bigger screens.

Not to mention Samsung and other brands rolling our their Mini LED tech next year as well. Honestly this year's panel selection was pretty sh*t and it's worth waiting a month or two to see what's coming.

I throw up at the sight of Charlton Heston but his epics demand the 4K treatment.

Oh what a 3D movie this would make. If they treated this like Warner did The Wizard of Oz 3D, it would be incredible, just amazing in 3D.

Unfortunately, the first 3 movies that you list are from 20th Century Fox. Disney has not released a single catalog title in 4k since Home Alone, several months ago, and NONE are announced. I just hate the fact that Disney now owns Fox. I have not posted this anywhere else but I do have a sister that works at Paramount, who hears inside stories, and she told me that Fox had already been working on a UHD 4k release of The Sound of Music for it's 55th anniversary this year in March. Every 5 years Fox released a new version of this film. Apparently, they were pretty far along with it, and when Disney acquired Fox, this and several other titles being worked on were scrapped. The Sound of Music appeared on Disney Plus the day Disney+ premiered their streaming service. See, there's a reason behind everything. No other streaming service has The Sound of Music unless you want to purchase it, and considering the original transfer was made in 8k and converted to 4k for blu-ray, it would have been very easy to release a 4k disc. This is my all time favorite movie so I am really pissed. And for those of you who don't like that one, it has been told to me that Patton, Hello Dolly!, M*A*S*H*, Butch Cassidy, Cleopatra, , Night at the Museum, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Young Frankenstein, The original Planet of the Apes movies and How Green Was my Valley were being considered for 2021. Do you think we will see any of these on physical media 4k from Disney? I have extremely high doubts now. Not a single film is nscheduled from the Fox library for a 4k disc release. The Sound of Music is still HD and not 4k on Disney Plus.

WOW! The Ten Commandments in 4k. When the blu-ray box set came out, I purchased it on day one and watched it on my 159" screen with my JVC projector. It was jaw dropping/ Vistavision glory! Paramount couldn't have done a better job, there was some real work that went into the new transfer. So in 4k, I have as feeling that this movie will easily take the place of the best looking pre-1970 film on the 4k format. Unfortunately, my JVC projector is not yet a 4k model, but I do have a Sony 75" Z9D which is 4k, but the announcement of this movie in 4k might just be enough to make me upgrade my projector. Thank you Paramount for all that you are now doing for the physical media format. I just wish all studios would join them.

The only issue I have is that I wish this had been given an Atmos soundtrack and that they used some of the stereo sound from the laserdisc soundtrack.

I am going to add the 4k disc to my blu-ray box set because it was a wonderful box set that needs to stay in my collection. I'll just put the DVD into some white sleeves and give the 4k disc the premium spot.

That's extremely weird since The Sound of Music is one of the three most popular epic drama-romance films of all time along with Gone with the Wind and Titanic. It was bound to make money no matter how many times it was released, so Disney basically gave up on money here, but I also find it weird that they'd release Home Alone and not this but oh well...

Would it be too much to ask that they at least finally give us the original mono audio track? No video version has it period. There have now been several stereo and surround remixes done of varying degrees of archival accuracy.

Apparently there were some stereo prints but I swear ever time I see the BD I get pulled out by some of the remixed audio effects. I have the older video mix attempt from the LD boxset which is about the same but for once I'd like to see the film with the original mono.

I would love to finally hear something close to what was heard by audiences in the 1950s.

It does happen sadly. Regardless, he was one of the celebs (Brando, Paul Newman, and many others) to attend/march during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom in 1963 and that was pretty awesome.

Chuck didn't seem like a bad guy at all. I don't agree at all with the way he went politically in later years but that's the way it goes.
His autobiography was quite rewarding and I found his actor's journals in a used bookshop which is a fascinating read.
