Going that route the difference would be about $697 more for the 5020.

Just not sure it would be worth almost 50% more for the 5020.
I'd suggest to negotiate for free deliv from BB.

The price from Best Buy is with free shipping. The $140 is for sales tax.

Update:

Both of the Sam's locations Where I saw the 5010 were sold out with the exception of one display model that runs all the time. I of course wanted no part of that.

I have been following the Sam's club auction site for the last few days and finally snagged one there.
It worked out like this. Auction closing price was $1,168 7% sales tax added 81.76 and shipping was $210. Final cost delivered to my parents home will be $1,459.76

They don't take Visa in Sam's clubs but they do at the Sam's auctions site. By using my Visa I will get an extra free year of warranty.

Yes it's not the latest model with the absolute blackest blacks but for under $1,500 for a set that originally retailed for $5k I am very happy with the purchase!

Thanks for all the input and suggestions.

Just in case anyone is interested here is a link to the 5010 auctions that are ongoing at Sam's.
Prices have ranged from $1,254 to the $1,168 mine closed at today. Plus of course the shipping and sales tax.

^ Yes I will have to take some pics once they get it delivered. I think I read where it may take a couple of weeks.

Now I am on the hunt for a 6020 for me!

I know a few months back you could get a 6020 for around 3k via Buy.com.
The darn things seem to have gone up since the announcement about Pioneer getting out of the plasma market. If I can't get one at a "reasonable" price I will just hold off a while and look at the Panasonic's down the road. I have a 60" SXRD and just can't go back to a smaller size.
