147 minutes gives them even more time to cut away from the action scenes. Brilliant!

You're not, it's great. People who didn't like it are simply incapable of enjoying these movies.

Godzilla came out 7 years ago, get over it. Kong Skull Island and King of the Monsters had plenty of action.

I think Godzilla 2014 is fantastic so don't understand these complaints anyway.

They literally haven’t done that since the first Godzilla and it’s clear from the trailer they’re not doing that so this joke doesn’t work anymore.

Interesting - early reviews from test screenings were saying it clocked it around an hour and 45 minutes but I’m tempted to believe the 147 minute runtime because it seems like a random number to have as a placeholder. That would put it about 10 minutes longer than KOTM which would make sense structurally since we have both Godzilla and Kong’s stories, plus there is an abundance of characters here. I would be concerned if it truly was less than 2 hours.

I really had no idea there was a lot of dislike out there for this one!

King of the Monsters was an outrageous amount of fun and the VFX & sound design work were fantastic. My wife & I have an absolute blast watching it.

Whether you like it or not is subjective, obviously, but, I'm not sure folks who dislike it truly understand what these movies are supposed to be.

King of the Monsters has cut aways from the fights.

I would also like to show my support for KotM.

Can’t wait to see this. So Glad music in trailers is rarely indicative of the music in a movie.

I kind of agree. I mean, my hype level is already pretty high

I thought it was pretty weak, and I loved Godzilla and Skull Island.

Brie Larson was absolutely hideous in Skull Island, almost to the point of making it entirely unwatchable for me, or my wife.

Even Hiddleston, who is obviously always tremendous as Loki, was about as charismatic in this one as a gluestick. Sure, he got in shape, but, talk about sleepwalking for a paycheck....yowza!

Thankfully, the VFX & sound-design teams pulled through and did the big fella' justice.

I'll tell you what. I thought I was harsh when it came to poorly conceived movies but the idiots commenting over at Slashfilm have taken it to a level too far. I watched the first full trailer, that they linked to in one of their articles, I was floored. It actually looks good, my overall first impression. Godzilla looks pissed off and Kong opening up a can of whup-ass. Pretty damn intense and I can't wait to watch it. But, most of the comments at Slashfilm are slamming the movie as being, basically, one of the worst movies ever made.

https://www.slashfilm.com/first-godz...-kong-trailer/

I agree with their comments about Legendary but they're barking up the wrong tree without having seen the actual movie yet.

I'll take Brie and Hiddleston (Plus Sam Jackson & John Goodman) over any other human character in either Godzilla movie. Easy.

Touché, my friend...You've got me on Goodman & Jackson. Never a complaint in their direction!

Just wish Sally Hawkins wasn’t done so dirty in the last film. Still not over that. :/

I've personally at least enjoyed all three movies so far and actually loved Skull Island FWIW. This may be the best yet (sure hope so)....even if you think these are garbage plot wise, at the very least, they make for amazing home theater fun with beautiful visuals and big sound (and I say that as someone that usually avoids buying craptastic movies on disc just because they happen to be considered reference quality).

Fun reading all these plot theory posts too now that the trailer is out there. My own little thought - perhaps there's an early Kong/Zilla fight because at the end of KotM Kong was not present and did not pay respect to the big guy as all the others did, Godzilla recognizes this and wants it while Kong doesn't give a #@! so they need to sort out that alpha thing. I like the idea of Kong being a better/even match for Godzilla compared to the previous contenders - he's an ape after all, FAR more intelligent.

Oh and yes, DAYLIGHT! Maybe they heard the complaints about these monsters apparently being vampires and only capable of coming out at night.

Bryan Cranston carried Godzilla 2014 the few minutes he was even remotely in. He slingshotted it.
