It has been a long time and a lot of research, but I am submitting in May as a co-author with one of the professors at my school.

I am excited.

Topic is Sports Economics looking at revenue of Division 1 FBS football.

Yes, the hard part was that the data was only available in small parts, so I had to build the entire data set to see if there was a significant relationship.

It took about a year to build the data set, and the whole time I was thinking, "There is not going to be any significant information and this whole thing will be a waste"

Slightly off-topic, but in the general realm of sports and money: do you have any thoughts about the "contract year"? This seems to be a pretty hot topic in pro sports over the past decade or so.

I know that study has been done for baseball free agents and the phenomenon of outperformance above a previously established baseline in the contract year does exist. I imagine it would be true in all professional sports that have limited-duration contracts.

He never said it was a book. Based on the context it's more likely a report being published in a journal somewhere.

Anyhow, sounds like it could be interesting, assuming you ended up getting something useful out of all the research.
