Don't know. Anyway, the AppleTV isn't that great.

Yes, but the app on non-Apple devices isn't.

Robert Zohn of Value Electronics said Sony HQ told him that Sony Support USA is wrong, they will make an official statement to confirm VRR still planned for X900H

VRR and ALLM dropping from the X900H is incorrect.

An official statement from Sony will be coming later.

My parents have decided to buy a new TV for the living room. I've been reading on reddit and rtings to find the best option which is the Sony X950H. The previous TV was a Samsung Plasma from 2014 I think. Is it a good buy? Not too knowledgeable on TVs. I am shying away from an OLED because of burn-in since they watch news and some channels have the occasional watermark.

Sony's X950H is my favorite 4K LCD/LED TV, however, once you get spoiled with an emissive display, like plasma it's tough to go with any LCD TV.

Watching news and channels with watermarks should not be any issue for any modern OLED TV and not much different that the plasma they owned. SO if the plasma does not have burn-in it's very unlikely they would have any issue with a new OLED TV.

OLED TVs cost more than LCD TV, but the end of year closeout sales are very aggressive now. If they don't have an external audio system Sony's 65" A9G Master Series 4K HDR OLED TV for $2,497 all in and derived would be my top recommendation.

Oh that changes the game then. My option was the LG CX. I think their budget is $2000 so Sony would be a tough sell.

LG's 65" CX for $1,997 all in and delivered is an excellent choice.

Sony's AG9 has moderately better motion resolution and up-conversion of low resolution content, like cable.

I also like Sony's A9G built-in audio performance.
