Thumbs up Family Guy On Blu.....?

Does anyone have a clue when these are going to be released on Blu....? You would think by now that they would have been released. Seth was on Howard Stern the other day and I would have liked to called in and asked him straight up when they were going to be released.

Seth was on Howard?! Damn, I need to get Sirius put in my new car! I miss it soooo much!

Are the Family Guy episodes available in widescreen? I thought they were 4:3 but I could be mistaken.

With all the FOX show on blu right now and coming up, Im shocked this isnt announced yet. Its a huge seller on standard DVD and would probably fly out the door on blu.

Just curious, has a network released a half-hour comedy on Blu yet? I know Weeds and South Park have been released, but they are cable. I can't think of any network comedy that's out now or been announced.

When Family Guy airs on Fox it is in 4:3 format. They havent gone HD yet like the Simpsons.

Family Guy is drawned at 640x480 IN COMPUTER. There's nothing HD in it and i heard that they won't change that. Simpson is HD since 2 months (previously drawned at 640x480 IN COMPUTER from 1999 and back it's on Beta Tape, but was made on CEL first, i don't think they kept the film tought).

So buying the DVD represent the max resolution the animation was done. For it to be in HD they would have to redraw and reframe everything. Just like The Venture Brothers.

What's great with southpark is that it's all made in 3D inside a software. So reframe and rerender is easy enought to make most of the season in HD.

To sum this up that would be the reason for the hold up....Thanks for the insight there, I did not know any of that info on how that was drawn and put on the televison.

There is no "hold up." It will probably never get released on Blu-ray because there's no HD material there. The only reason to release on Blu would be to cut down on discs.

I heard that Seth said he hated HD and that his shows would never go HD.
I think he is a fan of "VHS" still.

Off topic>>>
[Show spoiler]I think "Futurama" is returning in full HD later this year on Comedy Channel!

Family Guy is not up for pre-order on blu-ray. What you're seeing is a placeholder page and means absolutely nothing. This show is standard definition, not HD.
