Hey I didn't know about the Circle offer. With RedCard I got it for $136.11 shipped, that's good enough for me. Thanks.

Thanks Vangeli. You are right. I knew that there was no digital locker/MA for TV shows but I didn’t realize NO TV shows are in 4K. I guess we finally have a clear case where physical media wins.

Well, I've had a change of heart. I couldn't find anything else to use the Target 20% discount on and with the extra credit I had I went ahead and ordered for $125 shipped. Hopefully all the discs work!

Yes, don't forget Target, and their 20% Circle discount.

In my area, it comes to 134.52 including tax, and that's not even trying an Amazon PM.

Have a couple bad discs in the set I purchased from Target. Customer service isn't playing ball with shipping a replacement set until I send the original set back but that was just via the online chat, going to give them a call later. I'm ripping these so not the end of the world if the replacement set has issues but still frustrating.

Clean those disc, seriously this set was so frustrating to rip, I gave up at one point, my hand actually started to hurt. I had discs that I thought would never work but if a disc didn't work I left it till the end and then used the workflow if it fails, clean it, if it fails again clean it again. My most problematic disc probably needed 8 tries.

I found that it is round the outer edges were a lot of the issues are so pay a lot of attention to that. Got them all rip in the end.

It’s really a shame hearing about all these disc defects. It’s the only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger as I can’t return any of them should I have a problem as I ship them internationally. Same thing happened with the Star Wars movies I got on launch, most of them had scratches and one was flat out defective. These are collector’s items, and we are the people keeping physical media alive...

I've done everything I can but have two discs that just won't work no matter what. One of them will at least mount but has errors on a couple episodes, the other isn't even recognized by my UHD drive or my Oppo.

I got this set during the Target 20% sale a few weeks ago, despite already reading the reports of scratches, fingerprints, glitches, etc.

My set arrived in a box, packed with big air pockets/padding, and in immaculate condition. I inspected the outer wrap to ensure it wasn't a return/re-wrap, and it looked legit. I opened it, inspected each disc, and there were no scratches or fingerprints whatsoever. The digital code worked fine too!

While I have not played each disc all they way through, I did at least put each disc into my player to ensure it loaded the menu, and played the first scene of each episode (until the credits)...

I got no glitches. Sony UBP-X800.

Now, I realize this is not a good sample compared to those here who have watched their entire sets and reported glitches during specific episodes/scenes, but I also know that those reports may also be from a vocal minority.

Either way, I feel good about the purchase.

EDIT: Oh, and while what I've seen looks incredible, I did also feel a bit of uptick in quality over the seasons as I tested. Not as drastic as Sopranos , but just enough to be noticeable (again, just the first 5-10 minutes of each disc).

After multiple delays, I finally finished the steelbook set, zero playback issues for me, feel like a won the lottery lol. Gotta say this was the first time going all the way through since it came on.. it’s perfect. Danys decision is well foreshadowed and maybe it’s the recent events, but I support it fully.

Recently got this from the Target sale as well and while I've only watched a few episodes, I have been really impressed so far.

Popped in Battle of the blackwater as my first taste of what this 4k transfer has to offer and wow does it look a lot better than the old blu ray. Way more detail in the dark scenes, I think I saw ships in the Stannis fleet that I never noticed before. The HDR is also brilliantly used for the wildfire scene, even the green glow shining back on the actors seems much more vibrant than it did before.

The next test episode that I ran was Kissed by Fire. I love the fight scene between Beric and the hound and while it absolutely looks phenomenal here, it was the dolby atmos track that stole the show. You can hear Berics flaming sword slash through multiple channels as it follows the arc of the sword along the screen to amazing effect. Being a dialog heavy show, the dolby atmos isn't constantly in your face, but it is used really well in both action scenes and more ambient nature scenes.

Super looking forward to continue my re-watch and marvel at just how well produced this series was.

yes it is foreshadowed but i feel like they rush it at the end. maybe if one of the dragons got killed right then at kings landing to push her off the edge. also it just doesnt make any sense to me that she doesnt go straight for cersei and then maybe just keep going for fun lol. i still think varys was poisoning her. there is that scene at the start of the episode where he is talking to the little girl who implies that. maybe it was a poison that didnt get kill but that drove her mad. i choose to believe that personally

Maybe a bit rushed yes, though doesn’t feel as much so this go round. Even the fast travel stuff doesn’t bug me, it’s mostly explained. I’m half way through the last book.. even George RR isn’t very hot on timelines. Sansa is STILL 13 in the books so far.

For all its flaws I think it’s one of the greatest stories ever told IMO.

As much as I think a box set should be perfect, if I get to season 6 and there is macroblocking for 2.5 seconds, sorry, but I'll just live with it. Life is too short to exchange your set 4 times over something that could just as easily pop up somewhere else for any reason. I do despise the stacked discs, though. Almost wish I got the steelbook set just to avoid that, but hopefully theyre packed tight enough in the slipbox that they should be okay.
