Default Do you ever cave?

So yesterday I decided to be a nice guy and pick up a couple chick flicks for my wife on Blu because she is sick (probably with the swine flu ). I picked up The Reader and Mamma Mia (it’s ok to buy blu’s if they are for her ) and I paid 22.99 for each… I don’t know if it was the cute yellow sign that BB had or the lighting but I caved.. I also could have been the combination of convenience… anyone else experience weak moments like this where you are paying close to retail!!?

I have a few times, but only with movies I really, REALLY want. In fact I love Young Frankenstein so much I paid the full $34.99 for it the day it came out at Best Buy. The most I've ever paid for a BD.

You must cave in from time to time. If you want to keep them happy! 46 bucks is cheap! Just look at the price of roses around Valentines Day ! Plus, they are additions to YOUR collection!

Good luck with that tactic! However, now you have paved the way to pick up two more blus for YOU !

If it makes the wife happy, then go for it. If she shares in your Blu-ray experience, then that's great. You're pretty lucky. But, I'd still have a few flowers in between the glued on Blus. No flowers in a bouquet might piss her off somewhat

I've caved more than once when it comes to going to the theater though I do peak around and make sure no one hears me say "Two for Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, please." There's too much upside to caving in situations like that. However.....

When it comes to buying, no. I'll Netflix it and in the case of sickness, that's why they invented Blockbuster and Redbox. If we break up, I don't need "The Notebook." Though I will say if you're big into good drama, "Rachel Getting Married" is quite good but it's not so much of a "chick flick".

I don't cave anymore, I saw what happened to those chicks in the Descent, and I said there's no way in hell I'm going caving ever again.

I caved on Nightmare Before X-mas, one of my first blu-rays so I was a bit excited. I mainly buy used or on a big sale price

First of all, I hope your wife doesn't get too ill with the swine flu. I'm not a doctor, so I won't pretend I know what the best advice is when it comes to quick healing. I'm sure Blu-ray is a good start, though.

I've caved on a few. The most recent one that comes to mind is Bolt for $27.99ish

Yes I have caved in, but my terminology would be "being considerate". This is required for man that women in their life. I bought "The Phantom of the Opera" BD at full price $29.99 for her birthday last year and it has become a fav over time too. Just last week my wife mention her interest in "Mama Mia" BD and of course Mothers Day is around the corner.

I hope your wife feels and gets better.

I frequently pay full retail. There's a Best Buy on the way home from work... so sometimes I swing in as a spur of the moment thing. I've done good if all I spend is $70 for a couple of blu's!

Its a lot better to cave then having to pay the consequences of not being able to enjoy a weekend.
