Default The Marantz Bat Cave

Hey guys,

First time poster all the way from the Dominican Republic. I want to share photos of my movie collection and theater with you guys. I've been a movie collector since the laser era. The first DVD I bought was George Steven's A Place in The Sun way back in 1999. I own over 5,000 DVDs including every single spine of the Criterion Collection, and over 250 Blu Rays.

On the tech side, my theater consists of:

- Marantz VP-15S1 Proyector
- Marantz AV8003 Pre-amp
- Marantz MM8003 Amp
- Marantz BD7003 Blu Ray Player
- Marantz RC 9001 Remote Control with Serial Extender
- PS3

- Stewart Studiotek 100 G3 92" 16 x 9 screen

- Canton Chrono 590 DC Front Speakers
- Canton Chrono 505 Center
- Canton Chrono 502 Sorround
- Canton Karat AS 750 SC Subwoofer

- Lutron Grafikeye 3104

- Auralex Metro LENRD Bass Traps
- Auralex Studiofoam Wedgies
- ATS Acoustic Panels

- Transparent MusicWave 10 AWG speaker cables interconnects
- Transparent MusicLink XLR balance cables
- Monoprice 22/24 AWG HDMI cables

- Middle Atlantic rack, shelves, and screws covers

Sorry for the quality of the pictures. I’m going to get a better camera with a better flash. Questions and suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

I posted a comment in your gallery prior to seeing this.....

I thought it looked like a Marantz..... very nice in deed, and the Criterion Collection you have is even more impressive than I thought all of them

Check out the Criterion thread in my signature...... there are many fellow Criterion fans in this forum.

Welcome aboard!

Thanks, Beta Man.

I own every spine, even the originals OOP and the all the new Blu Rays. I'm a big movie fan, especially for silents and classics from all over the world.

got a question for you then...... since it was tossed around in the Criterion thread.....

For the Monterey Pop discs that are up for pre-order.... do you buy each individual releases AND the "Complete" set, so you have all the Spine #'s? Same with the Box-sets I guess..... If so.... YOU SIR, are a serious collector! (I myself, just purchased the "Complete" set)

The complete set, always. There's no point on buying separate discs outside the set because the box has its own spine number. I bought Bergman Island by it self because it got a separate spine, even dough is on the 2 disc of the new edition of Seventh Seal. I believe this is the first time Criterion has ever done this with a release. For example, Wender's Tokyo Ga, which features on the 2 disc of Ozu's Late Spring, never got its own spine.

More pics added. They still look awful but I'll upgrade them later with a better camera.

WOW!

The enitire Criterion Collection! (if you ever want to sell it PM me )

How big's that room, the pics make it look smallish, but the amount of storage there makes me think it's pretty large.
Incredible set-up, you should be part of the tourist guide to the DR.

My room is pretty small, only 13.5' long x 15.5' wide. The proyector is mounted 117" away from the screen. My front row is 8' away from the screen.
