Smile The Bat Barn

Hi everyone. I've been lurking here for quite a while & thought I'd share my recently completed home cinema room with you. It's taken about 8 months of sweat & blood, but the room went from this........

via this...

to this...

In a nutshell, the home cinema is on the 2nd floor of a detached barn, alongside my house. To make it habitable, it needed a new floating floor, the entire ceiling ripping out & insulating, re-boarding with dense plasterboard on the ceiling & dwarf walls to name just a few.

There are four circuits of lights & a good beefy power feed into the barn, and the system comprises a 10ft wide 2.37:1 fixed screen, Sony VW60 + Prismasonic FE1500R anamorphic lens, home-made infinite baffle subs with 4 x 18" Fi drivers , Audiolab & Rotel amplification, Sonus Faber and M&K speakers etc. The entire screen wall is made of acoustically transparent fabric with gobs of rockwool behind, and I have 6 diy acoustic absorption panels dangling from the ceiling, oh and black velvet panels on the side walls 1.5m out from the screen to tame light reflections.

It's been quite a labour of love, but it's finally done & I'm loving watching Blu-ray material in here on my Region A PS3 & Region B Sammy BDP-1500.

If anyone fancies a closer look, a UK forum did a short film of the room here, and there are a load more pictures in my gallery. Cheers!
