Wasted 2hrs trying to check out a £29 order, managed to finally get through at 5:10 and the prices had gone to £49. No chance, a complete farce

I had to get up real early today and when I tried to check out last night's "FATAL ERROR CART" it worked! Especially happy with Seance on a Wet Afternoon. Last time I ordered it my package arrived empty from Amazon.

...And Mom got her eagerly awaited eye operation.

My order (no bragging, just to have a good overview for myself somewhere):

[Show spoiler]

Products £273.00
Shipping £14.00
Total paid £287.00

Now expecting a severe hit by customs ("Thanks" brexit-ers!).

Gave it 30 minutes last night then tried again this morning, when I had no issues at all.

I managed to get an order to the "pay now" stage about 4:50pm UK time just before the site crashed for the last time. The screen stayed stuck on "processing" for 10 minutes until I closed it. I kinda shrugged with an "oh well, I didn't need them that bad" ...until I saw the VISA charge pop up in my bank email. And no Order Confirmation email and no Order History entry.

When I contacted them via the (now working) web site, I got this canned email shortly afterwards:
Quote:
Dear Customer,

Thank you for your email

We do apologise for the issues with our Flash Sale, which has now ended. Although we prepared ourselves, unprecedented demand caused a series of technical errors.

If you have been charged more than once for an order, we are currently issuing refunds as quickly as possible. We will confirm when your refund has been processed.

If you have made payment but have not recieved an order confirmation, and the order is not showing in your order history, we will honour the order where possible. We are manually processing these orders as quickly as possible, and you will recieve an email notification when your order is confirmed.

We are experiencing a large volume of emails at this time due to the various issues, and thank you for your patience. We are working hard to respond to all emails as quickly as possible, and will reply to you soon regardless of your issue. There is no need to respond to this email.

Please see the link below for full terms and conditions of the sale:
https://support.networkonair.com/hc/...and-Conditions

Thank you for your patience
Network Distributing Customer Service Team
Sadly, one of the ones I ordered is no longer in stock (Captain Scarlet), so we'll see what happens...

Am on this site, practically everyday, and missed there was some sort of flash sale at Network. On their mailing list now, so hopefully will be notified next time.

A couple of years ago, I read that they would be letting some of their poorer selling titles go OOP once the stock runs out. As far as I can tell, they've kept their word on that. Just off the top of my head, I've noticed the following go (for certain) OOP recently:

Vincent and Theo (the mini-series, as opposed to the film edit)
Selling Hitler
Tales Out of School (Blu-ray and DVD)
Jack Rosenthal at ITV (Acorn's BBC set went OOP around the same time)
Alfresco
The Best of Saturday Live and Friday Night Live
Morecambe and Wise: Two of a Kind - The Complete Series

Others seem to be missing from the site but are still easily available elsewhere and not necessarily OOP, more likely between print runs. Though it should still act as a reminder that they are cutting down on their back catalogue and it might be the right time to get some of the older titles from your wish lists. In my case, I really should've purchased the Armchair Theatre sets yesterday, but I jumped headfirst into The Prisoner and The Woman in Black.

Is there a complete list of Armchair Theatre releases?

Shouldn't be too difficult, they're all in print: https://networkonair.com/search?cont...mchair+Theatre

As for additional episodes, there might be one or two out there as extras. Hopefully someone can put us right.

EDIT: Studio Canal's recent Blu-ray of The Family Way has Armchair Theatre: Honeymoon Postponed from 1961 amongst its extras (the film, formerly a play, had its origins in the episode). Been meaning to pick this one up since it came out.

The way this one went you'd be better off not knowing about it.

Spending 7 hours of my time on creating a single order I could have used to actually watch some movies, spending lots of money on movies I don't have the time to watch anyway, pushing my bank account balance into the deep red zone once again... I don't blame anyone else for that. All my own fault.

Is Theo and Vincent mini-series a longer version of the Altman film or something else?

It was was made as a 4 part mini-series (200-minute length) for television, and a 138-minute version was released to theatres.

The Network DVD release is the ONLY one to include the ORIGINAL mini-series version.

EVERY OTHER release of this ONLY includes the CUT cinema version & this includes the US BD release.

Gave up on Thursday night but managed to get an order in yesterday morning:

Top 2 complete my Network Hammer titles but would also love to see them release these titles as well:
Hammer House of Mystery & Suspense - I think this may be a different rights holder from House of Horror though?
Vampire Circus - The fact that Network released the other 3 ITV/Carlton Hammer titles away back in 2014 makes me think a release of this is now unlikely.

Thanks so much for your reply FatBoySlim142.

I was only aware of the cinema version. Must hunt down the min-series.
