I have an SC-05 an absolutely love it. I dont want to go on and on about how great it is (which I could) cause I don't want to sound biased. But truthfully I have owned top of the Yamaha RX-V series receivers, Onkyo 805 and 905 and have heard many others and I can confidently say that this is by FAR the best receiver I have ever heard, yet be lucky enough to own!

Its sound is just so natural and clear. I can run it all day long and it never gets hot. The MCACC is just awesome, it corrected/adjusted the settings to where I swear I am in the movie. And besides its absolute gorgeous looks, the media streaming/direct ipod hook up (meaning no seperate dock) is my favorite part about it.

I would love to answer any other questions you have about it, theres just to much to list without being specific haha. Check out my HT gallery and you can see my modest setup and give you a better idea of how its used and stuff. Hope any of this info helps.

Also wanted to mention that this was my first Pioneer receiver and I must say if they continue to make products like this I will be a fan for life.

I had the same dilemma last week and had to choose between the SC-05 & Marantz SR6003. After reading countless reviews & auditioning both, the SR6003 was the clear cut winner for my listening & viewing needs. As many have pointed out you really can't lose with either & it comes down to your personal preferences & what you need out of the receiver. A couple words of caution, as with the Marantz (industry best 3 year warranty ), be sure that if you do decide on the SC-05 that it is from an authorized dealer so in the event you have a problem it will be covered under the 2 year Pio warranty.

Good luck!

Everyone has offered really positive reviews with the elite series. So, I went ahead and made the call. I feel confident the elite will offer everything I need plus some.

the Pioneer SC-07 for 850.00 is what I just bought from sixth ave with the "name your deal sale"

Man I am super excited and can't stand the wait already and its only been 10minutes.

Once again Thank you. BTW for those who chimed in I probably will need some tips on getiing this 07 dialed in.

Hey thanks for posting the info on the MCACC. I was looking for something like that so that I could try and setup my receiver.

I just got my 805 about a year ago and I installed two, yes two, of the Pioneer SC-07's the other day for a customer and they sounded really good. I'm jealous. Might have to use the student loan money to buy one.

the 07 looks pretty ridiculous... can't wait, I'm ready to hook this baby up.

What kind of speakers did you hook these 07's up to?

I just checked the tracking with UPS and my 07 will be delivered tommorow.

This is awesome,I can't wait to get this setup and dialed in.

You gotta understand I'm going from a preHDMI AVR w/ standard DD.1 and DTS to TRUE HD/ DTS-MA and its an SC-07. The jump is going to be off the charts. Woo Hooo!!

It will be night and day! Enjoy it. You will not want to leave your house. The detail of the HD codecs is ridiculous!

thanks T2B, I think you are right...I'll be watching movies all over to get the full dose of HD audio.

BTW, I was at the TPC today and followed Tiger, Ernie and Justin leonard for about five holes. I was literally two feet from him on a couple different tee boxes. Hes a stud, by far my favorite golfer.

I just finished hooking up my sc-07 and all I have to say is WOW! It is nothing short of a night and day experience and my HT has never sounded as good as it sounds right now! What a transformation Pioneer has made coming from the 84 to an sc-07!
