It's a fairly common thing, not just Paramount.

![]() So I finally finished upgrading 1-5 with the arrival of the first film from Target....and GAH no slipcover!! So no uniform look for me LOL. Video for 1 and 2 in particular though look outstanding...the whole set is just outstanding and well worth the upgrades! |

1 & 4 are among my favorites. Since I have 4 in 4K, along with 5 & 6, I added MI to the collection. Initial impressions are that I like the disc as it is an improvement over the blu-ray (has more detail, different color grading, and grain) though not a reference transfer or anything like that.

I posted about 6 months ago how Ghost Protocol's transfer looked too contrasty when I initially watched it, but I've come to learn that the black levels are incorrect playing the HDR10 base layer. Now I've played it back in Dolby Vision this issue has been corrected, but that doesn't explain why the HDR10 layer is affected? This is the only 4K in the MI set to behave like this. Any thoughts? Using a Panny 820 player with an LG LED TV.

They haven't done any remastered Blu-rays. Some countries received newer AVC encodes with lossless audio but they're still the same old 1080p transfers at source. And IIRC the 1080p discs that are included with the US UHDs are those same original MPEG-2 Blus.

Surprisingly even at 5.1 audio, MI3 height effects upscaled very nice. Helicopter stuff was awesome. I used the receiver's NeuralX upmixer, but others may like Dolby Surround upmixer to get up to an Atmos-like experience.
Some movies do very well without a real immersive audio track. |

hello guys, i just need an opinion on something so i have all 6 movies in my collection. I have fallout on 4k and the rest in blu-ray and was wondering if it is worthwhile to upgrade
the remaining 5 to 4k? How is the picture and audio on 1&2 i figure the later series will have a better presentation than 1&2? Thank you in advance for anyone that answer me |
