The THX mode on the G10 is below the quality of last year's models, so now you're not missing anything there.
Firstly, you don't "set" the TV to 1080p, your source determines the resolution. So, if you're watching a blu ray and have the player connected via HDMI or other 1080p connection, it will be 1080p. If you put a blu ray into your player and it was connected via a 1080p cable, it was displayed in 1080p. Secondly, you can stretch the image in the picture menu if you want it to fill the whole screen, but if the movie or other source was recorded in a widescreen format, you will lose not only clarity and resolution but also pieces of the picture itself. So just pop your movie in and enjoy! |
