you know what i guess your right, but whats wrong with that? i've picked my format, i've made a decision to go with blu ray and invested my hard earned cash to enjoy this technology and thats why either side is so damn pissy at each other. THEY WANT THE STUPID WAR TO BE OVER!

Now i'm not arguing with, you seem like an intelligent guy/girl, its just that you must understand Sony has done so much for Blu, given me personally a lot of entertainment in an industry which is just filled with crap. My home theatre stuff is the only new technology i have bought in a long time cause all the latest gadjets and what not are just boring mundane things people are trying to get rich quick off.

The reason Sonys got such a backing is because their putting time and effort in to something fantastic and i like them for it. Microsoft aren't even bothered by HDM, Xbox 360 has just been released again and they couldn't even be bothered to have HD-DVD built in (please correct me if im wrong).

Sony spent months getting the blu ray specs right and i thank them for it. Just my thoughts, i wish you good times with your HDM.

I am the preacher your parents warned you about. You know, the liberal kind that does not hate gay folk, loves horror movies, and thinks a woman has the right to choose what to do with her body.

In other words, not a Bible Thumper. More of a Follower of Christ.

But enough OT.

It is indeed, a BD fan site. But that should not mean you can't discuss other sides to this, and appreciate other POV. Unless civil discourse is not part of this site...

TJandBLU-RAY, enough. That is off-topic and Bible Thumper is offensive.

Let's get back on topic shall we? Politics be it secular or religious have no place here on this forum. Agreed?

As I writting this post, I looked over to the shelf and seeing a Sony made VHS VCR machine. Will I in the future also be looking at a HD-DVD player made by Sony?

Mine says absolutely NO, Toshiba has exclusive rights and as far as I know hasn't licensed to anyone else, sound familiar, Sony had exclusive rights and never licensed to anyone with Betamax either!

No, I don't' agree, with either the bit about Bible Thumper being offensive, or religion not having a place on this forum.

When people here act like the Christians vs the Romans, (BD vs HD-DVD), and the like, religious observations are to be expected. I have seen people here with zealot like fever for the Blu cause, and wishing horrible acts on those who dare to like (even a bit), HD-DVD, it reminds me of the Crusades.

So it indeed, religious discussion belongs here.

I have often been accused of being against the cause, despite my wish for BD to succeed. And my belief it will. And that too reminds me of when people find out I am a preacher, and then expect me to be all right wing, like the Bible Thumpers, of which I am not. I expose this, to prove a point: Just because you happen to like HD-DVD, does not mean you can't also like BD. You can like both. You can even acknowledge that one is better then the other, and you can also wish that just High Def wins against DVD.

Do I want BD to win? Yes. Do I wish there was no format war? Yes. Do I find the religious zeal that is often displayed on this site extreme? Yes.

Now, that is indeed, a OT post. Sorry if that offends you.

We don't have a problem with discourse, the problem the other guys have with civil discourse, is that if they are honest and open to the discussion, it becomes more like proselytizing the heathens After all, it wasn't the priests in the Exorcist that were ranting and raving, it was those posessed by the evil one... and we all know that M$ is the evil ones representive on earth!
Well, perhaps, but I for one, would love a civil discourse on this topic. It's a shame, that there are a few of us here, that like both formats, or at the very least tolerate HD-DVD, and we get treated like the lepers.

And that is very funny point, comparing MS to the Devil...I like that. I might borrow that.

i wasnt worried at all.......but now with the Venturer announcement and the word going around of sub $150.......if the BDA doesnt have anything large planned for or preceding Cedia.........i dunno folks, i have a grim feeling that 40$MSRP Fox catelogs and a slim disney schedule planned through next fall may not work out too well.

I've still got my fingers crossed but if we dont hear anything form insiders or official by the end of the week..........

Here we go again.

So much doom and gloom. Just wait for Cedia, if you get nothing then be worried.

Ah my friend, that was before sony owned the content! They learned their lesson.

I believe you will see a Sony HD-DVD, but as Jon Stewart on "the daily show" would say - "what would we do with the monkeys"

If you don't understand the reference, look it up before you flame me
