Actually, I think Maher wants that. I think he believes the Earth would be safer and happier if ALL religions disappeared. He pretty much says that in his closing sumary.

I mean no offense, but you should look up 'Atheist' and 'Agnostic'.
An atheist is a firm believer that there is zero possibility of there being a god in any form. An agnostic is unsure, and is open to all possibilities

the difference from what i understand between athiest and agnostic is that open mind, an athiest does in no way believe in a god, and agnostic does not know and won't make a decision one way or another with out some sort of concrete proof

The argument that "we didn't come from monkeys" is an argument from the side that hasn't even the faintest idea of what evolution suggests. The theory of evolution does not suggest that we came from monkeys.

andyman1970 stated that it is just a theory as there is no evidence of it, yet viruses evolve and mutate in a matter of days. This is readily observed by epidemiologists and is why by the time flu vaccines are produced they only have an 80% effectiveness becuase the virus has evolved into something else in the meantime.

Sorry guys evolotion does in fact exist and we all evolved from a common form eons ago. The DNA evidence on this is indisputable in science.

Religon serves to actaully hold back evoloution by training people to cling to things that have long been proven to be not true. Why do you think that Gallaleo was put to death censored? Because he theorized that the earth rotated around the sun and not the opposite.. For that he was called a heretic because how could the earth not be at the center of the universe in the perfect world created by God?

I don't think so. Atheist just means you don't believe there's a god. I don't believe aliens have visited this planet but I acknowledge that maybe, possibly they have. Likewise, he may believe there's no gods but acknowledge that maybe, possibly there are.

What? If you eat high fat food you get fat?? Your kidding?? EAT A SALAD! I think -although I have no proof, he made up the health effects of eating fast food. 30 days is hardly enough time for that kind of health degeneration.

Now that ive gone way off topic. I will admit to the fans of this film the Bill does have some really good points. Aspects of religion are absurd. If you asked someone off the street who had never heard of the bible, about Noah and his ark, im sure they would think you were nuts.

Films like this, with Maher, Spurlock, and Moore, are good, entertaining films. The problem is, they are one sided. Im sure Bill Maher didnt go into this thinking he would change his mind. He wanted to mock certain religious people. If I was religious, I would avoid this film. You will learn nothing.

Well he interviewed all kinds of religious people ... Catholics, Christians, etc. And one of the Christians he interviewed is supposed to be a smart person who wrote some book that tries to give "scientific" evidence for god or Christianity.

Good that you are renting it I'm going to rent it too since who knows when this will be on blu-ray.
