Apparently these movies will be R rated according to an recent interview.
With that said, honestly this idea seems more successful for Netflix than theaters. Releasing all movies of a trilogy in one year is a unique idea, but for the theatrical market it may have not worked so well. |

The idea around a properly weekly turnaround on films is genuinely interesting, but the film themselves have that kitschy cookie cutter Netflix look to them and honestly I have a feeling a diminishing returns split between the three of them.
No doubt Netflix will drive up the hype like crazy but I doubt these will do down as anything special as such an occasion feels like it demands. |

I had very little interest in this until just now when I read that they shot for an R. But I wonder if they had the balls to go hard R?

I read some of these books as a youngun. This looks fun. And it isn’t cookie cutter Netflix. Fox produced the films, but Netflix acquired them. I am glad because I want to see these three back to back. Awesome to see Sadie Sink in here too. And Maya Hawke (though it looks like she isn’t going to be in it long). It just looks like a fun horror romp. Sign me up.
