Anybody noticed that the majority of good shows are on CBS? With the list of cancellations, I don't think I will have to change the channel Monday through Friday now.

That's your opinion. I don't like crime shows and that's virtually all of CBS' shows other than their Monday Night comedies and Wednesday night comedies so I rarely watch CBS.

I really like this show. How is the Unit a long shot? I thought it had great ratings

Haha I watch too much TV to be stuck to just one network. No way am I going to miss Chuck, Smallville, Supernatural, Ugly Betty, Lost or Fringe just because good shows like Reaper, The Unusuals, Dollhouse & Terminator get cancelled from the other networks. But CBS does have a majority of my time with all the CSI's, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Numb3rs, Ghostwhisperer & HIMYM. I do also watch Flashpoint but would rather CBS had kept Moonlight.

The final nail in the Dollhouse coffin..........

Quote:
It's not supposed to happen like this. Season finales are supposed to be the big send-off for shows, roping in the audience that's watched for the past few months for one grand party. But the Dollhouse finale on Friday did the exact opposite.

The season finale for Dollhouse registered the show's worst ratings to date, says The Hollywood Reporter. Friday's episode was watched by 2.8 million viewers and drew a mere 1.0 preliminary rating among the coveted 18-49 adult demographic, down from the previous series low of 1.1 in the penultimate episode.

That's a horrible sign for the future of the series, which had a glimmer of hope at renewal about a month ago, but now seems headed for the scrap heap. Even with gains from DVR viewing, the hard truth is these numbers do not warrant a second season.

That's a real shame, but Fox never really gave it much of a chance. They pretty much screwed it from the beginning. Neither Eliza nor Joss have much luck nowadays. There's still a chance though I suppose, but it would be a surprise.

I really wanted to love this show, I was a huge Buffy fan and still love it, but for me it just never sparked when it should have. They did a couple episodes which really had no place being done, Eliza just doesn't have the range to play the ghost of a woman, and you could really see how little she is able to play beyond her typical roles in the scenes with Alan Tudyk he was swimming circles around her and she just kept acting like a variant of Faith, lol. Too bad it's not going to work out for Joss to potentially expand on what might have down the road been a really good show, but I probably wouldn't have watched anymore seasons. It's a shame, like I said, I really wanted to like this show I just didn't.

Default Party Down Renewed for Season Two!

This show is so damn funny, I love the guest stars all being from Veronica Mars.

Quote:
Sources tell us exclusively that Starz has renewed Rob Thomas' hilarious half-hour dramedy about cater waiters in L.A. for a second season. With the possible exception of Jane Lynch, who is over on Glee now, all of the main castmembers, including Adam Scott, Lizzy Caplan, Ken Marino, Ryan Hansen and Martin Starr, are expected to return. Can we get a hell yes?

What other network would take his shows, Sci-Fi always has a low quality to their production it looks to me like the same way they film day time tv, not quite sure what it is that gives daytime shows such a separate look from primetime, but they do.

CW would have been a choice... I guess. They got Supernatural which used to have that film look to it in the first season.

I think its just the way it has been edited. Sure Sci-Fi produces a load of low budget shows and movies and most of them look horrible due to bad or pretty much non existing editing (other than cutting it together).

I haven't heard anything in a few months but I believe they said if it was picked up it would be a mid-season replacement. I'll look into it, wasn't it on NBC??

You are correct. I searched for an article about V and found this in part of it...

"V, that beloved 80s TV series about aliens engaging in an insidious takeover of Earth, is being remade and Firefly fans should be pleased to hear that Morena Baccarin, the sultry Companion from that show, has been cast in the alien leader role played by Jane Badler in the original."

I hadn't seen her in anything since Firefly, unless I just wasn't looking hard enough. Glad to see a couple of people from Firefly will be in it.

Oh I had no idea who she was when I saw the name, but she was very hot on Firefly. But I saw her on something recently and she had butched hair and didn't look good at all.

UPDATE: Just found this article from yesterday

Meanwhile, "V" and "Limelight" screened to mixed reviews Monday at ABC. Of the two, "V" remains in the mix after scoring well with its alien characters.

Oh man Shawn Ryan!!! Holy hell!!! But the name Sons of Tucson just sounds like a ripoff title of Sons of Anarchy....

Quote:
This is the God's honest truth: Lie to Me is coming back for another season.

A Fox rep wouldn't comment, but reliable sources confirm that the network has renewed the freshman drama for a 13-episode second season. And here's where things get really interesting: Shawn Ryan, the genius producer-writer behind The Shield and The Unit, is taking over as showrunner. Don't interpret that to mean The Unit is dead though. I'm told if the CBS procedural returns -- and it very well may -- Ryan will juggle both shows.

Additionally, Fox has picked up two new shows: the comedy Sons of Tucson starring Reaper's Tyler Labine and the DC comic adaptation Human Target starring Mark Valley.

The net will announce its full schedule next Monday.

I'm surprised Lie to Me is only getting a 13 episode pickup. It is one of Fox's most popular shows, although it's ratings have dropped almost every week, from over 12 million at the start to about 8.5 million now. At the start it did have American Idol as it's lead-in, so that certainly influenced the ratings.
