The 2018 scan was from an Interpositive rather than the OCN. So there can definitely be room for improvement with this release if SF doesn't cut corners and Universal allow them access to the OCN.

For as much complaining as we’ve been doing over the artwork, I just wanna remind everyone of how truly awful the Goodtimes releases were:

(This one uses a still of Michael from the first film.)

You are correct! I was thinking III due to Universal using it on their Blu-ray artwork.

No worries, it is a bit confusing since even the 1998 Goodtimes DVD release used that pumpkin design in the cover.

I'm sure a lot of you already know mister Warlock's work, but I just learned about him and I want to say he has the greatest name of all time.

Great news about the new H2 remaster (UHD and blu ray) coming from the OCN! Detail should be quite an improvement from the previous remaster from an IP.

Really glad to see this is a new 4K scan that's actually taken from the OCN, as the previous 4K remastered steelbook was from an IP (although originally advertised as being from the OCN before they made a correction). It looked really nice, but lacked the finer details visible on the previous release from Universal (which I believe was also taken from the OCN back in the day?)

HII should look incredible. Like I'm actually so excited for this release now.

Agreed, I'm happy that Shout Factory went out of the way to obtain the OCN for all 5 films. Same goes with including the original sound mixes (HII has the original Stereo Mix). For the fans complaining about the lack of bonus material and lost footage not included, they probably need to realize that most of the budget has gone towards fresh 4K scans of the OCN and brand new Dolby Atmos mixes for all 5 films. Not including the services from Dean Cundey for the I-III. That's all got to add up.

As long as they encode the video with the correct color gamut… the OCN 4K scan will be worth it. Otherwise… it would have been a complete waste.

They did it with PoD, They Live, and Weathering With You and they never bothered to correct the mistakes.
