All the releases with a vinyl do, they're packaged exactly like their previous release of Big Trouble in Little China. A box that holds the movie and the record.

That I don’t doubt. But when you gain almost 70K subscribers there should be at least some kind of personal responsibility to get even the simplest (and easily obtainable) facts correct, otherwise you’re becoming an agent of misinformation. Again: how he messes up some of this stuff I’ve no idea, as it’d be EASIER to get it right than to screw it up. It’s quite a remarkable talent.

That's what I was wondering. Shouldn't the original colour timing be the main event? I mean, isn't that what we're supposed to strive for with UHD? Very odd.

I remember reading that test screenings were held early in 2020 for Halloween Kills, before the pandemic kicked in. The screenings went very well, and naturally people went onto Reddit and posted every thing they could remember from start to finish. Unsure how much has changed, if any, from those test screenings though, since the pandemic delayed the original release by a year they could have made some changes post test screenings.

I do admit I always liked the THX DVD with the warmer colors but it wasn't how the movie originally looked. A new 4K less washed out than the Lionsgate 4K will be much better. |

How do old films not translate well to 4K? Regardless of how cheaply they are made, it has to do with how the materials used have been treated over the years and their condition, the care and attention those making transfers/restorations of such films put into them, and how the disc is made. It has nothing to do with how cheaply the film was made, unless it was shot on a medium inherently lower than the equivalent of digital 4K resolution, the negative for 1978's Halloween was 35mm which translates to 4K in digital resolution.

Well, I got my order placed. SF using rigid slipcases instead of slipcovers kinda messes with my plans to put the slipcovers over the cases in my box set, but it's probably for the best. I planned on keeping the slips for the original releases of 2 and 3 on those cases, so at least it doesn't mess up the theme the new artworks are going for.

I work in a store that sells DVDs and Blu-Rays, and the Halloween DVD still sells pretty well, especially in the fall (naturally). It makes sense for SF to keep that option available for customers if they're now the only distributor of the film. Quote:
If UHDs come out for any of the Friday the 13th films, it'll be from Paramount. Quote:
That said, it was kind of a splash of cold water to the face going through the anemic extras on the Halloween 2018 disc, compared to what each of the individual films had in the box set. So I'd be down for Collector's Editions of those (assuming the sequels have the same amount of effort put in the extras as the first one did). |

They're confirmed to be rigid slipboxes, close to what was used on their Creepshow release I'd imagine. They have also posted promo art on facebook of amaray cases.
