I'm not familiar with "TRANCE", but it looks like a standard edition without the Digital Code is still available relatively cheap:

https://www.amazon.com/Trance-Blu-ra...vies-tv&sr=1-1

But it looks like even that version is drying up. Is this one to pick up? I'm not attuned with most modern films. It sounds a bit interesting, though.

EDIT: That could be a Canadian edition, as I see the title of the film spelled differently right underneath.

Yep, that's a Canadian version, and it's not sold by Amazon, but a third-party seller. I suspect that edition is out of production too. The seller probably just has an old case of them. Since the film was a notorious financial flop, I doubt it ever sold many copies.

I actually REALLY liked the film. It was Danny Boyle playing lots of tricks on the audience, which I don't think the mass of moviegoers liked, but I loved. I don't want to go into detail about how the movie is devious, but it plays with expectations in just about every possible way. It's not perfect, but it's bold and original and a lot of fun.

It's also cool because it's the movie he shot before the Olympics, for which he directed the opening ceremony. He then set the footage aside for a year, and edited the film afterwards. A bit like the way Chloe Zhao shot Nomadland before her adventure in the Marvel universe with Eternals, and then edited the footage for that a year later as well.

Yep, I collect Boyle films, so I check in on them every now and then, even though i own them all. Trance went OOP in the US only a year or two after it was released. Somewhere in the "warehouse from the end of Raiders" that is this forum, my post from when it went OOP can probably be found, haha.

So glad I picked this up at a local record store recently.

There are countless ways to experience Dragon's Lair/II/Space Ace, but as far as I know, the Blu-rays remain the only way to experience them in high definition in a physical format.

Citing Wikipedia: "In late 2006, Digital Leisure released Dragon's Lair HD, which features an all-new high-definition transfer from the original negatives (as opposed to just sourcing the LaserDisc). The original mono soundtrack has also been remastered into Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. On April 9, 2007, a Blu-ray version of Dragon's Lair was released. This uses the same HD transfer as the aforementioned PC release, but went through a 6-month process to clean and remaster the image."

Well the replica coming out will be on a ROM chip, so that is a physical format as well.

While the Digital Leisure games were cool for what they were, they did not replicate the dragons lair arcade game interface and gameplay all that well due to limitations of the media. The replica coming out I linked will likely do a really good job of simulating the original arcade game, and if it does so IMO the Blu ray discs will basically be a novelty at that point.

I guess you could watch the Blu ray through for the animation, but I'd much rather play a better version of the game than watch a non interactive computer assisted playthrough.

The Blu-rays are interactive btw, whether people chose to run them on their Playstation 3 w/controller or a standard Blu-ray player w/remote.

J-L yes what you say is 100%
I've looked. Both are Fox, the USA one lists as all region, so it is** likely** the Region B is the same

Not sure if it's OOP, but the Jacques Rivette Collection (6 Disc Limited Ed), which had been sitting forever at $50 on amazon.com, is now up to $92.54 with one left. Deep Discount still seems to have them in stock ATM, though...

Twilight Time
Strange Invaders
And might as well include The Vanishing (1993), since there's 'ONLY ONE AVAILABLE' according to Screen Archives.
All the original Twilight Time are Out Of Print. You may see a few titles here and there, but that doesn't change the OOP status. not sure why they weren't listed.

Technically, all Twilight Time titles were OOP as soon as they were released. Their contracts with the studios were for (with some exceptions) 3000-copy press runs, so no more would be manufactured after that.

But when Screen Archives still has 150-200 copies (or more) of a few dozen titles, it's kinda difficult to think of them as Out of Print. A lot of the titles are still readily available at SAE, and relatively cheaply at that.

We just say "OOP" but what I think what most really mean is "OOP" AND OOS/Sold Out. The purpose of most all of the discussions in this thread is what is becoming hard to find. If they are still readily available at retail, then who really cares? Unless we know that a certain title is almost dried up.

I try to keep track of them here. Bolded titles mean they've been re-released.

Even Gruv just says things are 'out of stock,' not 'out of print' (that I've seen at least).

No reason not to jump on Mystery Men for $9.99 - if you want it, now's a fantastic time to grab it. But those $100 copies of Bowfinger on ebay? Nah - I bet a repress will come eventually.
Looks like it's happening for Bowfinger -

So just in case, I then paid a premium price for a copy from Ebay because it had a slipcover and was packaged in an extra plastic case(!). It turned out to be a perfect copy, well worth it.

Cut to a month later, and DeepDiscount has finally informed me that they aren't able to get this title anymore, and have refunded my money. That's as sure a sign as any that the title is OOP...at least for now.

Perhaps more will indeed be pressed under Disney/"20th Century Studios", but my gut feeling says no.

I wouldn't be at all shocked if Disney lets all the holdover Fox titles they inherited like Jojo go OOP. I'm talking about finished Fox films that ended up coming out through the company after Disney took over, and have Disney-style packaging.

A Hidden Life hasn't been available new on Amazon on BD for ages
Same with Ad Astra on BD and UHD
and Ford v Ferrari on BD and UHD.

Before the inevitable comments that one of those titles may still be available at some other site... I'm not saying these are definitively OOP, but Amazon seems to usually run out of titles first, even if Best Buy and others may have a few copies for a while longer.

The most useful aspect of this thread is to warn people which titles are drying up but still available here and there, so they can buy them before they vanish from the wild and are only available on eBay at inflated prices.

You can get Jojo Rabbit and Ford v Ferrari on 4K through the Disney Club; Ad Astra is available on blu-ray but not 4K. If they’re offering them through there then they’re not OOP but who knows how available they will continue to make them through other distribution channels.
