You're right - that came off as aggressive. My apologies to the OP. I took his post as him posting specifically to discredit my account of how Bullmoose ships, but perhaps that wasn't his intention.

Back when the Ingmar Bergman set came out they were reportedly shipping in their original shipping containers. I got the fluke that was unboxed, stuck in a much larger box without any padding and shipped like that. Got a bumped corner but not much else thankfully. I let them know and got $20 back so not all lost! lol

Is that a good thing? I was hoping they'd be able to make the picture even more sharp and clear but I guess that's not possible for older movies (to a certain extent).

I'm not sure if it will be a good thing or not. I guess we'll have to wait and see? I am almost certain the color will be different compared to the prior - afterall - that is Mr. Cundey's forte: to ensure every re-release to have a different color timing compared to any other version he supervised. If they are really going back to the OCN, there is always the chance depending on the scanner, process, encoding, etc. that they squeeze out more detail for the disc, but I would not be planning on much more detail either. We'll see.

I still can't see any posting on a Canadian site however (Amazon or Best Buy), where the price would at least be somewhat reasonable. As it stands now ordering all 5 from a U.S site will cost a Canadian like $250.

I wish Amazon would hurry up with the price matching. While Best Buy's offer is tempting, if Amazon matches that $27.99 price, with the discount I already have from them, I'll get all 5 for about $130 after tax from Amazon rather than $153 from Best Buy.

I was really planning to only upgrade 2 and 3, just leave the rest to Blu Ray.. then I find out my complete BD collection is going for north of $300 on eBay.. bring em on lol.
Wish Shout would sell those 7” vinyls separately, they’re overpriced and I have less than no use for the posters they come with. |

Notable things discussed are the fact the new Halloween transfer is straight from the original negative whereas the first 4k was from an intermediate. Dean Cundey commented on the transfer saying "this is how it looked when we shot it"
Splicing in the TV version scenes was brought up but there's difficulties due to the poorer quality source of those scenes and issues they encountered by having to crop the scenes to get them to match the original movie screen ratio More special features to be announced in a few weeks, they can't go into details until everything is signed off due to backlash they've had in the past announcing features early that didn't pan out Someone asked about the lost H5 footage, response was.. "wait and see what is announced in a couple of weeks" which seems promising |

First question is sure to get people grumbling.
Q: Why only 1-5? A: 10 UHDs all at once "would just be impossible" and "so we had to split it up someway." Remarks that 1,4, and 5 are "new to Shout Factory" and that they were licensed from Trancas International, and that 2 and 3 have existed with Scream Factory since the start of the imprint. Might just be keeping the door open for Paramount, but the "split it up" wording makes it feel like they expect to get those films. Additionally, Cliff expects the discs to be done by around August 6, so the second wave announcement should be forthcoming around that time to reveal "everything that's on the disc" because the currently announced extras are just old material that they knew they could still use. "There will be much more on the disc." |

It’s been a while since I have preordered from BB, and not used PayPal as the payment method. Do they still do the recurring authorization hold when you use a credit/debit card? You know, where the hold/charge comes and goes up until the release date.
