It’s possible these could even be official mock ups (aka acquired rights from the Mondo artist to use for a disc release), and still have no plans on releasing these films. I don’t remember where I heard it, a podcast likely, but a company (I thought it was Shout!), had talked about how they had commissioned new artwork for a blu-ray release of The Abyss, even though they knew they’d likely never be able to release it themselves. Severin and Kino have both spoken in length about the extras they’ve created for many releases they either had to cancel, or knew they’d never release to begin with because they had those people involved there.

That would be hilarious if for no other reason than the fact that there is no leaker. Pretty much all "Leaks" come from one of 3 places...

1) A retail listing (which was provided to the retailer BY SHOUT FACTORY)
2) An overly excited actor/director/producer that accidentally makes a public comment on social media about their role in an upcoming project.
3) An Artist that shares a portion of their work (or the full thing) ahead of an official reveal which fans use to figure out that a title is coming.. (ie. the Return of the Living Dead 2 situation).

#1 is the source for most of our info and it's not even from folks that frequent the boards like the guys at Grindhouse or Diabolik. Most of the time "leaks" come from Amazon, Wal-Mart, Target, Videoeta or some other random film retailer that are too big to notice/care that info was posted "early". Dawn of the Discs isn't an insider he's a news congregator with a good track record of separating rumor from truth (largely thanks to this forum I'd wager) and so it will be interesting to see what develops from all of this.

I'm just happy we have something to talk about again, even if it is speculative. This thread has been slowly dying for the better part of a year now thanks to slowed releases, less exciting releases, less sales, and in general just less buzz about the brand in general.

I do get all that, was really only thinking about the recent Halloween UHD situation, which seemed to be a little different and SF clearly was upset about it.

Just for the record, I don't believe these are coming. Looking at the comments on that guy's FB post alone is enough proof for me that the leak is complete BS.

But to play devil's advocate, just because they've denied it doesn't mean it isn't coming. Just off the top of my head, they denied having Candyman, Hell Night and both Tales From The Crypt films before they officially announced them.

Yeah the Halloween reveals clearly bugged them but the method which those titles were announced was the same way plenty of past announcements have been spoiled. Someone here found a retail listing and posted about it. Dawn of the Discs saw it and shared it on Facebook. End of story. Perhaps it's the fact that it is on Facebook and can easily be re shared that was the issue since we by and large are a small niche group.
