Yeah but they said they're moving away from the meta stuff so hopefully they move away from all that. If I hear a character say "I got so many likes on my post about the murders" I will be so disappointed. Just move away from the whole I want to be internet famous aspect which will no doubt be the reason for the murders in this movie, Like you don't need to murder anyone to become famous these days, just make TikToks.

I don't think they're going to rehash Scream 4. I personally hope that they don't use that disgusting greasy filter, Scream 4 is unwatchable to me because of that.

I doubt they will, because that was specifically a Craven/"Teal & Orange era" thing (see his My Soul To Take for another example from around the same early-00s period). None of the other Scream movies looked like that.

I can't believe it's almost been a year since they started announcing the cast!

Less than 6 months to go!

After rewatching the whole series last night at a sold out screening, my anticipation for "Scream 5" (I know it's "Scream", but "Scream 5" just sounds nicer) has steadily risen. Given the other theater Tarantino recently bought and their insistence films that play there be screened in 35mm only, I'm keeping fingers crossed for another marathon in January.

Did you see Perri Nemiroff there?

You're actually the second person to ask me that in the last twenty-four hours. She walked by me while I was waiting in the concession stand line.

I just Googled that theatre and the screen is so small? I'd hate to be sitting in any seat beyond the 5th row. And the seats look uncomfortable and are non-stadium. How did y'all survive those seats for 8 hours?

I think the perspective of that photo makes it look a lot smaller than it probably is. The screen seems to reach close to the ceiling and looks like if the curtains are opened a bit for a scope film, probably stretches as far across as it can while still leaving room for two exits. Almost half that picture is the ceiling so the screen takes up a much smaller part of the photo.

^ The more important question when it comes to the New Beverly: was Clu Gulager there?

I made it a point to go both there and the Cinefamily on my first visit to Los Angeles. They were having a midnight screening of a new movie called Raze, with Zoe Bell, Doug Jones, and other cast there for a Q&A. And yes, Clu Gulager was there hanging out in the audience.

The screen has to be 12 feet high at best.

Quentin is 6'1 and if he stood up he looks like he'd cover like 60-70% of the height

Haven't seen Clu at the Bev since... at least 2019 when on October 30th, they did a triple feature dedicated to him ("Return of the Living Dead", "Nightmare on Elm Street 2" and "Uninvited").

It's bigger than it looks in pictures. The screen isn't IMAX sized, but it gets the job done and the movies always (for the most part) look great.

Regular theater seats existed for decades before you were born, child. We all survived just fine. I'll take seeing films in 35mm at the New Bev over an IMAX any day.

Another spoiler filled leak claimed from someone who saw an early cut at a VIP event in Canada.

[Show spoiler]"I went to a horror movie screening 3 months ago and they showed us an early cut. "Production" might not have ended but filming was long over. It was awful and I can tell you what I remember of the awful plot in private since we signed light NDAs to not spoil it.

The dude from 13 Reasons Why gets stabbed behind the front door as his mother the sheriff is trying to get in. Its the only tense scene. That's literally the most memorable kill in the movie... a stab in the throat.

Also Dewey dies in the hospital scene (stabbed in the gut a bunch) and the killer goes "its my honor." It tries to be reboot-meta and thats the only line that was memorable. The killer is the boyfriend/Jack Quaid from "The Boys"(and also the weird goth girl.) They claim to have met in a serial killer forum online and wanna recreate the original movie. Sidney and Gale team up in the end at the original house from Scream 1, (the killer held a party there/reboot etc)

The same day they showed a secret screening, the stories went up about "having multiple endings" so IF they stick with the one I saw, its absolutely terrible. But I have a feeling the one killer won't change because he was the only good performance aside from Dewey and Gale.

So in 5 months when it comes out in dumping ground January, and you waste your money on this hot garbage...I can link you this and have you eat your snarky words."

Yeah, every thing I'm hearing so far makes this film sound like a hot mess. But what do you expect from the two dudes who ripped off You're Next.

"Reboot-meta," ie. what Scream 4 already did, and probably far more successfully than this one will.

(And I'm not even crazy about Scream 4.)

For sure. That plot sounds to much like Scream 4. Been there, done that.
