I just recall reading it someplace. Since 720p is progressive doesn't that make it "enhanced"? Where as 1080i is HD but not enhanced. 1080p is both. I mean, if you want to split hairs.

FRY's Electronics has 15 discs for $49, 4X speed, - these discs have been terrific in data backup & archiving for me, not one disc hasn't burned well or with any errors or bad data. Give them a shot

No, I still think you're missing it. The marketing term "Enhanced Definition" or "EDTV" refers specifically and only to a spatial resolution of 720x480 with progressive temporal resolution. It does not mean "progressive regardless of the spatial resolution," at least not in the U.S.

720p, 1080i and 1080p are all "High Definition" or "HDTV" according to the ATSC specification. The term "Enhanced Definition" does not apply to any of those three resolutions in any way.

totaly wrongonthis one

progressive is just referring to the fact that all lines are being displayed on the set at the same time versus interlaced which shows half at a time.

480i = Standard Definition (SD)
480p= Enhanced Definition (SD)
720p/1080i/1080p = High Definition (HD)
