Awesome! Glad to see Criterion getting into the 4K game. I'll be picking up Mulholland Dr.

This announcement made my day! The Piano has been neglected for way too long, so it's nice to see it receive the Criterion treatment, and in 4K! All the rest of the films are great choices and I'm looking forward to seeing them again in all their full 4K glory! Great start, Criterion!

The press release makes it sound like all 6 are releasing in November?

In for all except Hard Days Night (sorry Beatles)

I’d rather have that then piecemeal releases at this point.
I think this is the first time they didn’t open with a Kurosawa title on a new format so maybe this is in the works?

Only "select films" will have HDR. Wonder what the strategy is there.

"Who the F does Criterion think they is, mofo Ron O'Neal or somethin'!"

Getting Citizen Kane, Red Shoes and Menace II Society! Red Shoes is the most beautiful Technicolor movie I've seen! Didn't think that would get a 4k! Dolby Vision please!

I'll echo the chorus in saying that it was about time Criterion jump on the 4K train. I'm curious what the normal price for a 4K release will be for them, considering the costs of their blu-rays.

That said, as long as they qualify for the 50% sales, I'm good.

How about "the market for physical media is dying"?

Never said that it was a good excuse.

I could cry tears of joy. both that we're going to get some awesome interesting 4k's coming up, and that I hopefully never have to see another comment about no 4k, no buy in the announcement threads.

Wow this is awesome news I’m so glad they finally saw the light and are making the jump. What a great slate too, so cool that Citizen Kane is their first UHD just like it was their first release ever on laserdisc. So emotional!

It's about goddamned time. Lee Kline must be breaking out in hives at this particular moment, especially after that ridiculous ego-stroking podcast with Barry Sonnenfeld.

In for all six, though I hope they're going to be releasing some/all in the UK.
