I never understood why anyone would spend $1+ on a phone. I personally prefer to use a lightweight "basic" phone and keep my 6.5" smartphone at home (I use it more as if it were a tablet). Heck, even $500 for a phone is too much, imo.

I've been in the "Premium" collector's market for going on over 5+ years now (those that are in it, know of what I'm referring) and this is CHEAP in comparison.
There are a variety of eds for most titles that are what I would consider "consumer market" prices and there are those that are "Collector market" prices.
You have options.
Prices are going UP across the board and because the pandemic has fueled both real and imaginative price increases as well, I anticipate them staying high for some time to come.

There are a LOT of people with deep pockets that don't really seem to give a damn what something costs if they want it.
For example, Anime prices on Amazon.ca can at times be DOUBLE what Amazon.com (USA) asks. It baffles me as to WHY folks are buying these but I'm often seeing "Only 1 left" etc when I pull up the offering.
Who the hell are these people dropping that coin needlessly?

Well, Amazon.com (USA) hammers us Canucks with extra taxes and duties and shipping, when we import from them, so it pretty much kills any savings otherwise.
Absolutely ruthless, and it upsets me.
Then there's Best Buy.
The USA site won't even ship to Canada and the Canuck Best Buy is an absolute joke since either they instantly sell out (since I think they only get like 100 eds of a title from their Masters) or most often, don't even get the same coveted releases (and despite frequent queries, they WILL NOT tell me why that is).

Target tried a quick foray into Canada, quickly said "punt this idea" and refuses to ship to us from USA as well.

Despite all the issues Americans may have with opportunities and/or prices, BELIEVE ME, you are still better off than 90% of the other countries in the world for purchasing. It's not even debatable.

I keep seeing people bring up that we're in a pandemic, but they're buying PS5s, Xbox Series X, iPhone 13, etc, you know, materialistic stuff than food and essentials for their well being.

That's like me, or anyone for that matter - forking over $1,100 for a new HDTV every year. Nobody does that... But for some reason because Apple tells them to, they get right in line and follow orders. Bonkers. All the while intentionally gimping their phones and making it obsolete through updates...

I'm planning to replace my phone next year, it will be almost 4 years then. I try to make it at least 3 years. There's really no point to upgrading a phone every year anyway, because usually they only do a major upgrade every few models and the in-between models are just minor updates.

I'm still using a mid-2012 MacBook Pro and have no plans to upgrade anytime soon. My mid-2011 iMac needs a new GPU, and it'll be working good as new, I'm not in a hurry to fix it though.

Is there a list of the contents on each indivigual disc of the Collectors Edition?

I think what I wanna do is swap out the Netflix Dub Discs for the Rebuilds when the last one gets released and keep everything in 1 nice little package, though that wont work if it isnt exactly 4 discs I can swap

The ideal would be 4 Discs (Series) + 4 Discs (Rebuild) + 1 Disc (Death/Rebirth) + 1 Disc (EOE) + 1 Disc (Bonus features) = 11 to fit the packaging

Doable or not? I'm not sure how the series is spread on this, if DR and EoE will have seperate discs for the dubs like the shows will, or if the bonus features are spread evenly instead of one dedicated disc, or if D/R and EoE will be on the same disc themselves

I will never understand the iPhone addiction.

For one, Apple is so proprietary in general. Never had the want or need for iTunes, iPod, iPhones, etc (which is ironic that one of the main parts of my IT job is to help the local techs activate and set up smartphones for their users, and almost all the sites chose to go iPhone over Android, after Blackberrys died out).

Two, my view has always been: if it still works for what you want it for, no need to upgrade just because a new version is out there.

Outside of text, calls, and casual internet browsing when killing time away from home, I only use 2 apps (Audible and a fitness app to track and time my runs) and that's all I need. No social media, no streaming video, etc. Upgrades such as better camera, faster network speed, and all that are unnecessary. The last span between phones was going from a Galaxy S6 to my present S10e.

Same for PCs. My current workstation I built back in 2007. Still running fine. My laptop I bought right when you still had the option to have them put Win 7 on instead of the pre-installed new Win 10. It HAS been 14 years, so I have started planning my new PC build, which will prolly happen summer or xmas 2022.

Note that according to this high-res image of the Collector's Edition, Discs 3-5 have bonus features on them but not the corresponding Discs 9-11 using the "classic" dub.

Like svenge listed, only doable if you don't care about the bonus features, since those are only on the Netflix discs.

I've had my current build for almost three years and don't plan to upgrade for a long time still, mostly because almost none of the really demanding games seem all that fun. Streets of Rage 4 was one of the best I've played in years and runs on a potato. Most of the time when I actually do play games anymore, they are several years old. I'm not even that fussed about playing some of the more recent ones at 1080p instead of 4K when I use my TV.

And yeah, I'm almost the same with my phone (a cheap Samsung J2) as you. I just carry it as a communications device and clock and sometimes use the internet (usually only when there's wifi). Even if I wanted to take a photo, the size of the apertures/lenses makes them totally inadequate. Phones do a little of everything, but are great at almost nothing.
