They have been handling Superman great, Snyder trilogy was amazing. Now Superman IV? That was an embarrassment.

I got one better for you. I was on eBay looking for a variant of a VHS of Gone With The Wind. I messaged one seller to check the beginning of the tape (during the credits) for a certain piece of music, and she messaged back that the tape had no differences during the shots of the “field workers”.

To add insult to injury, her seller name actually is Karen.

hmm MoS is perhaps my least favorite of all the modern super hero movies (although the parts with Amy Adams are good)

I'd rather watch IV on a loop than ever watch any of the recent Superman movies.

Completely agree. IV has some truly good scenes in it. People mostly know IV as a joke to throw around and haven't even seen it. When I come back to it I'm always prepared for the sad experience of watching everyone struggle through the low budget but then Superman flies in, saves the cosmonaut and reassures the Russian crew...in Russian!
And I'm just totally melted. That's Superman. I have zero desire to ever sit through Returns or MoS again.

Then we go to the wonderful scene with Clark at the now derelict farm and refusing to sell almost as if to just hang on to a tangible piece of his past that is ultimately gone.
Bits like that and Hackman returning makes me care and the experience becomes siding with everyone involved to struggle against the Cannon madness.

Almost got this but then realized it's only the TC on 4k which really is not the preferred version imo. Sucks too but like many 4k releases the longer cuts are usually not in 4k. The blu still looks good though. Would be nice if the 2006 superman returns was in 4k though!

Trash movie, hopefully they just release part 2 separately on UHD, I’ll be happy.

What remains of "Superman IV" can't really be compared with "Man of Steel" -- two entirely different eras, circumstances, budgets, creative/production issues.

But like I've said before here or in one of the related Superman disc forums here...regardless of the final product, for me there is more "hope" in the fragments that are left of Superman IV than anything in Man of Steel or Snyder's universe, which is ironic considering that's what Snyder decided to base his version of the "symbol" on.

Man of Steel is the best Superman solo film ever.

the real question is that are going to get Superman 2 theatre version or donner cut in 4k?

I am thinking the theatre version for sure.. they would need to update the effects on the donner cut.

For Superman 2, I want Lester Cut, Donner Cut and a Hybrid Cut that is based on Donner's cut but with Lester's ending and any additional Lester footage that would enchance the Donner cut
