What? That’s a magazine cover.

It has a first-movie Ecto (with the ladder on the passenger side) and what looks like a Stay Puft action figure photoshopped together with an old pic and some new pics. It’s not something Sony made. It’s basically fan art.

Major magazines like Empire usually get key art from the studio when they're featuring a movie in their cover.

Venom 2 has even used a fan-made art submission as their official IMAX poster too. So things can get quite blurry when it comes to what's fan-made or studio-made, but it's all part of the marketing in the long run.

Not in this case. As I mentioned, the Ecto is wrong for Afterlife, the Stay Puft is a toy or a statue.

Gonna be so angry thet some of the cast for Afterlife has been drawn on the same poster as the OG Ghostbusters, all as part of the marketing for Afterlife.
