Am I crazy but is MGM films on home media licensed through WB? O r did I make that up in my head?

Cause there's some Larry Cohen films that are were released on DVD through MGM and they desperately need a home for blu and Scream loves Cohen for sure, so that makes sense to me.

Warner own much of the MGM catalogue prior to March 1986. This is just films produced by MGM though - it does not include the likes of AIP, United Artists, Cannon, Orion, etc. MGM still retain the rights to many of these films.

As for Larry Cohen, The Private Files of J. Edgar Hoover and Wicked Stepmother are definitely with MGM, and thus available to any label with an MGM deal, but no takers it seems.

Damn. I thought MGM had a deal with either Scream or Kino. But hopefully a deal gets situated as I'm sure there's plenty to be released, on top of the Cohen films you mentioned.

Vinegar Syndrome and Kino Lorber Studio Classics (superior labels) have deals with MGM.

Worth noting that Scorpion and Code Red also have access to the MGM catalogue via Kino, so in all in all it's pretty crazy we haven't seen these two films yet from someone.

Severin also have a relationship with MGM now, while Fun City also have access via Vinegar Syndrome.

Wow. So Severin has MGM, Fun City through VS, and Scorpion and Code Red through Kino, who also has MGM?

Sounds like there's possibility for those titles to appear anywhere.

Also back on topic, what are these exclusives there were getting announced in October? Seems a tad late.

That's how they always do the site exclusives - they're in stock and ready for order the moment they're announced.

Deadly Friend is out next week, and Killer Party on the 26th, but there's nothing on the schedule for the 19th, so perhaps they'll drop them then?

Army of Darkness ROCKS, first of all.

Second, if it's anything; Warner has recently become MGM's new main home video distributor (first time since 1999). MGM's sublicensing deals with other companies are still in effect though.

Scream Factory has been terrible for years in announcing their titles, erratic is a great choice for how and when they do them. More often than not some retailer somewhere lists the titles before Scream has bothered to announce them. It's not rocket science and other labels don't run into this problem repeatedly. It's annoying but they don't seem to concerned.

So it looks like it's finally coming. Perhaps it might be one of the forthcoming exclusives? Bluebeard confirmed that this line is no longer solely limited to titles from the Corman catalogue.

Is anyone else experiencing an absolute nightmare regarding these Halloween 4Ks? I preordered them all from Amazon at the end of August and some of them I won't be receiving until two weeks from now. I don't even have an approximate date for Halloween II.

Yes! The release of the Halloween 4K's is a 100% shit show. My Halloween II is also on backorder. I preordered on Day 1...back in July.

I had preordered the Halloween movies on Amazon and got estimated dates all over October (ex 2, never got an estimate for that). I ended up canceling and reordering from Best Buy - 1 & 3-5 all shipped but now I again have no estimated date for 2. It is really a mess for something that seems to be the “big” release for Scream this year.

Barring unforeseen circumstances that may affect all retailers across the board Diabolik seems to be the only place to get boutique label titles delivered as close to on-time as possible. I ordered from Bullmoose and lucked out by getting all four sequels delivered the day before street date. I mean, not even Shout themselves seem able to get these out to people in a timely manner. Only entry I ordered from Amazon was the original film and that is scheduled for delivery next Tuesday.

Hoping Shout change it up a little with the next batch of exclusives. Getting a little burned out on sword and sandal and 70's Corman WIP flicks. Battletruck and Grotesque would work beautifully for me
