Installed my Cyron Pro lightbars and the HTW1000 IR controller over the weekend.

Install was easy, and the effect is great. The IR controller is really cool. Lots of fun patterns and the ability to change color with music.

Hope to have some pictures up tonight...

Congrats....yes, please provide pics. I don't have the controller, but I still enjoy my lights all the same.

Ask and you shall receive...

I really love these things. It was very easy to make them work with my Harmony activities. Now, any activity that uses the TV also turns on the back lights to their D65 White setting. The controller is really cool. Allows for complete customization of color and dimming functions. Has a sleep timer, and several built in light shows including one that responds to sound. My only complaint is that the IR eye could be a little more sensitive. It misses about 1 out of 10 commands I throw at it.

A few pics of the install...

I ran the light cords behind the wall using the same channel as my HDMI cable. Instead of cutting a separate hole, I just dremeled out a small piece of the HDMI wall plate cover and fed the wires through there. The controller itself is much smaller than how it looks on the Cyron website. I was expecting something about the size of a Blu-Ray case, but it's only about half that size.

Super easy...

Very nice indeed. I have to look into the controller as I too would like my harmony remote to control the lights when I start an activity. Good idea with the wiring, no need to make more holes and stuff.

davidag02, I have a couple questions for you....

where did you mount the led bars, on the tv or on the wall? also what length bars are those? where did you buy the kit? and how much?

The controller is pretty expensive, but it has a lot of functionality too. Good part is that it will control way more lights than I would ever want to use, so plenty of room left for future expansion.

The light bars are mounted to the back side of the TV using the supplied mounting brackets and double sided sticky tape. I tried them out on the wall just to see how it would look, but it cast way too much light out into the room for my taste. The way it is now, the effect is more subtle. Here is a picture of one of the bars mounted to the TV.

I bought everything directly from Cyron.

What I purchased:
HTW1000 IR Controller
HTPB15 15" Pro Light Kit ("Pro" models are the ones that can do D65 light)
30 Watt Power Supply

Like I said, this is very expandable. Will be very easy in the future to order more bars and add them on if I choose.
