The SF has the "Night She Came Home" feature, but it's also missing the Criterion commentary with the producer and the Film Facts track, both of which are included on the Blu-ray disc on the LG release. The LG also has a different 7.1 track.

My original color timing disc was loose upon receiving it and got a pretty good scratch on it. Bought the set on Amazon. Should I contact them (which would probably replace the entire set) or would I be better off going through Shout for just a disc replacement?

Shout is apparently not doing that. Have Amazon replace it, you don't have to send your old one until you get the new one. When you get the new one, make sure you have at least one set of unscratched discs (even if you have to mix and match) and then return the remaining one to Amazon. Even easier if you have a Kohl's near by, you can just drop it off there.

Well guys, my set of 1-5 w/posters is scheduled to arrive this coming Tuesday. I'm also getting a EVGA RTX 3060 ti FTW3 Ultra delivery that day. Tuesday is going to be a very exciting day for sure.

That may be a rip-off (or as I prefer, inspiration) of an idea at most, but he presents it like it makes them the same. I don't think he realises how incredibly stupid that makes him sound. |

I want all 5 of these 4K discs, but the loose discs issue has been an absolute nightmare. I already went through two copies at Best Buy (both loose and scratched to hell). So it appears all, if not most copies come with loose discs. To add insult to injury Shout is not replacing discs unless you buy directly from them. So would my best bet be to order directly from Shout as a sort of insurance policy? (In the event I get more copies with loose discs I can ask to be sent replacements). Only problem is I know Shout seems to be taking forever to get these out. Is it safe to assume if I order them now I probably won't get them until the end of the month?

It's crazy that a classic film like Halloween doesn't really have any good streaming options available.
Only one version on Itunes, it appears to be the 2007 blu-ray version, except it has zero special features. I'm guessing it's a rights issues...? |

People have reported compression issues when playing this with players that don't support Dolby Vision. I guess that is my problem because my gear doesn't support DV, but I'm amazed at the extent of the problem. This disc actually looks blurry on my TV. Even the opening credits are blurry, contrasting with the ultra-sharp font rendering of the credits in the Lionsgate disc.
My wife, who is definitely not an AV snob or expert, commented that it's the worst version we've ever watched. I know neither my TV nor my player supports DV, so 4K discs never look as good as they could, but this disc is the first one I've had that actually looks bad. All other 4K discs I've played look great and are obvious improvements over standard BD. I've no plans to replace my TV in the near future, but do you think having a dedicated 4K player that supports DV would help? |

If your TV doesn't support DV then having a player that supports it won't change anything. Everything in your AV chain has to support it for it to work.
