A Few Good Men turns 30 next year. I don't know if they'll go back to Philadelphia though for it's 30th in 23. But you never know. It's deliberately not a looker, all the money is in casting as it's a dramatic social issue film deliberately made for best Best Picture consideration.

No offence made towards Fujimoto. Who is a fantastic cinematographer.

This is great news, although it'd also be nice if Sony just included DV with their initial releases.

Sure, but seeing as Sony released Labyrinth and the Ghostbusterses on UHD in 2016 and the first DV disc didn't debut until a year later in 2017 (as the authoring software wasn't ready) then it was a wee bit tricky to put it on Ghostbusters. But everything else released after that then yeah, fair point

It's weird because Sony have been the most reticent out of all the majors to actually use DV on disc (whilst routinely providing it on streaming versions like everyone else does) and now they're embracing it like a long lost relative. Disnee have done even less DV discs (two!) and they've reauthored one anyway to actually remove the DV from it, but what I mean is that out of all the majors who still use DV on disc Sony are by far the least involved with it. Yet here we are.

I know my resident forums conscience who perches on my shoulder will remind me yet again that I pooh-poohed the idea of re-releases with DV gaining any traction, but I'll just say that it's not unexpected when it comes to Sony as they'll try any trick in the book to get people to buy stuff yet again. Superbit was their wheeze on DVD, Mastered in 4K was their wheeze on Blu-ray, Dobly is now their wheeze on UHD, as well as that 'IMAX Enhanced' gimmick for new movies on UHD. But the great thing about the Dobly is that it's something that WILL make a difference with these Light Cannon™ grades of theirs.

It's when/if other studios start doing the same thing instead of just re-releasing the same discs in different packaging over and over (Warners, I'm looking at you kid!) that I'll hold my hands up and admit defeat.

Yes, it'd be nice if they'd use DV on their current catalog releases. Each title should have had it in the Columbia Classics V2 set, not just Taxi Driver and The Social Network.

The forum would very quickly get bored of me saying I was right all the time, but shall never bore of you giving opinion on these forth coming re releases. So don't worry your kitty heid about me.

Also Coppola's Dracula is turning 30 in 2022. I don't know if a Few Good Men and Dracula are big enough for a re-release with a brand new disc

Labyrinth has a cult following these two simply don't have...

Coppola had got The Outsiders coming to UHD. Keanu + Coppola can be a very powerful combination.

Warner is releasing 13 catalog titles for '22... LOST BOYS..has been confirmed... which I'm excited about.

I was sure... BLADE RUNNER..would be another. No LETHAL WEAPON either for it's 35th.

With UHD, I was sure that I would never have to buy another "special edition" of the same title again but I guess I was wrong...

I don't think there was anything wrong with the previous release, but if it's like Labyrinth then I guess will be worth the upgrade.

It is going to be like labyrinth plus the original theatrical audio tracks and ghostbusters 2 is being jam packed with deleted scenes never before seen.

That’s what ticks me off about Disney’s uhd blu ray releases they all exclude Dolby vision even though the uhd releases are available with Dolby vision on Disney plus.

My TV can only do HDR10 anyway, so I will probably stick with the existing release.

It’s not just Dolby vision it’s also using 100gb discs instead of the original 66gb discs. it’s also going to have the original theatrical audio tracks and ghostbusters 2 is also getting a ton of unreleased deleted scenes for the first time ever.

Ok, that does actually sound quite tempting. I'll wait until I can get the remaster on sale before picking it up though, as I've not had the current disc for very long.

They said on the TV guide on my PVR that the Comedy Channel that they were showing Ghostbusters, I got really excited. When I switched to the channel they were showing Paul Feig's Ghostbuster: Answer the Call and I suddenly got less excited.
