It's always funny to see my exact same post in a different thread weeks later.

I enjoyed the movie. It's not perfect. Don't lynch me for it.

That critical and monetary praise though, there was a movie last summer that met that criteria, but I won't mention it by name out of threat of hijacking this thread.
Wow! That just made me feel uncomfortable!

You should have talk with captain Kirk, he would have taken care of that little problem long before that

I am planning to see Terminator this coming weekend. I'm usualy a few weeks behind on movies (I hate crowds). I wonder how empty it will be considering all the negative comments I keep hearing on this.

IMHO, it deserves everything it's getting. It's nice to see a good movie (for once) get the critical and monetary riches it deserves.

That's why I'm very happy to see Terminator tanking. Let's see how badly it drops off this weekend.

Word of mouth is a very powerful thing.
I wouldn't really call it tanking.

I would say it's doing rather well.

I was surprised to see how empty my theater was. Only half full Sunday afternoon on opening weekend. I saw Star Trek the second week in the same theater and it was full (and the crowd clapped when it was over).

However, I believe TS was playing in a few extra rooms - so that could very well account for the low attendance.

I expected TS to do more business than it did it's first weekend. Hope it doesn't drop too dramatically - like I said, not big on the story they picked to tell, but since this is what we've got - I'd like to see it finished.

I am not too worried about not liking this movie, my reputation on this forum for liking movies everyone else destroyed is well known

I am just surprised by all the negative comments I keep hearing about it, I did not expect that for a Terminator movie.

Well at least all the negative comments will lower your expectation and you'll probably end up thinking it wasn't as bad as they said...thats what happed to me and enjoyed it so much that i ended up watching twice....

The film was a total garbage. Didn't cost me nothing to see it, but still lost the time though.

This is an interesting piece (contains spoilers if someone needs to be warned):

Funny you mention that, its exactly what happen with Wolverine. Everyone around kept complaning how bad it was and when I saw it 3 weeks into its release I was "it's really not that bad"

Like I said earlier my wife and I liked it. I wasnt expecting hamlet, I was expecting a bunch of stuff to blow up have some cool robots and some awesome sound effects. As it turns out it had a pretty deep story to it, though it did not take you by the proverbial hand and spoon feed you the underlying story, it just played out.

Maybe because I am older than some, and remember when the other movies came out, that the expectation of Arnie giving a great performance besides being an action guy was pretty slim. This movie had great acting and the story worked.

To you. It was a typical McG film IMO.

Shhh. Don't spoil their trolling fun with actual common sense.

They need someone to band together and hate on, so they can ignore any alternate opinions.

All I can say to that is "Huh?" By saying, "It didn't cost me nothing to see it"(double negative) It actually did cost you something to see it. Unless of course you meant to say, "It didn't cost me anything to see it".
