This thread is going to go on forever, and I'm not going to get involved with the fire fight that is about to commence.

BTW....OAR all the way!!!!! I'm sorry I couldn't help myself.

Sure would have been nice if all the movies were in the same aspect ratio of 2.40:1 or 1.85:1 Spidy 1 is 1.85:1 Spidy 2 & 3 are 2.40:1....

The only full screen movies we have were bought on accident by someone else as a gift. This really won't effect me since I will be getting the BD anyways, but cool knews.

On many titles... not this one. But the Full Screen version never takes the full screen.

Even though I'll be buying the box set, this is great news. Maybe they're trying to get people used to widescreen and move them into Blu-ray?

No one is goign to complain about this one...you're all talking about pan and scan...

The full screen that gets debated about is the 16:9 full screen cropping done on cable....not really the same thing as 4:3

I make all of my anamorphic widescreen movies to play in full screen so this is disappointing news besides not everyone has a widescreen tv like we do

I'm very curious how they got away with this to be honest

P&S version always sells well at least the first month

Maybe they figured they'd cut the costs? Or maybe the Sam Rami didn't approve one for some reason. If I remember right, parts of Pearl Harbor on VHS were still in widescreen (acording to the box, I've never actually seen Pearl Harbor on VHS for many, many reasons).

wow, sweet move by sony. the more people get used to widescreen the better. who knows, maybe sony will even sell a few more widescreen tvs as a result.

Bay got a compromise, that they'd put out the wide and the 16:9 version, but not a full chop n crop.

But there are a lot of stores like Wal-Mart that DEMAND a P&S version, especially for a movie like this, so there's got to be an interesting story here
