HD DVD has consistently sold more dedicated stand-alone disc players than Blu-ray, and stand-alone players have a much higher attach rate of discs sold (PS3 owners are more likely to buy the unit for games than for Blu-ray movies). Taking the long view, if this trend continues, HD DVD could have a growth surge that eventually surpasses Blu-ray.
This trend hasn't continued already. Blu-ray is now selling more stand-alones in the US. If you're going to talk about trends, shouldn't you at least know what those trends are?

Except for the Paramount announcement, what single thing has occured this year that doesn't point to Blu-ray leading and continuing to lead?

Do we have any concrete signs that blu-ray stand-alones are selling more in the US? If so, it seems that HD DVD supporters have done well to hide the fact.

In addition to all the other facts, they're good at that though.

Again, Josh Zyber is a HDDVD shill like no other. This guy's opinion has no weight at all.

Notice his repeated thinly veiled digs at Bill?

YOu know what's going to be hilarious? When AVS has their Amir party next week and it's "Players for everyone!"

I did notice that. I thought it was just me. The whole comment about parties, etc. Bill is the consumate professional. I've been visiting Bill's website for about eight years now and he's definitely not a shill. In fact, he was pretty vocal early on about Blu-Ray's lackluster launch.

Well, of course they would keep silent about it.

From a Japan site

The split is now something like 55:45, which they like to describe as big lead, while dismissing the 66:34 (or better) lead for Blu-ray in disc sales.

The capacity for self-delusion can never be underestimated.
