So true Haushausman, I mean look at my signature below, it says it all, PS3 owner, hardcore 360/PS3 gamer, and own how many Blu movies? yeah a little over 40 BD movies so far, and probably 75 by year end!!!! I probably own more BD movies than 90% of their standalone HDDVD player owners! Our forum has an average of 5-10 BD movie owners, and most of us have PS3's!!! LMAO!!!

Uhhhh....I thought that the PS2 is really what made the whole DVD thing take off. I remember everyone back when the PS2 came out say "Damn, I am going to get that thing so I can watch DVD's and maybe playsome games." I believe without the PS2, a gaming machine, that DVD's would not have really taken off. But I guess us gamers are all just stupid pot smoking jobless hobo's and all that we can afford to buy in life is a ps3 and a sdtv. I hope the HD-DVD group understands that most of us "gamers" have money and are willing and do buy stuff with the money we make. Thanks HD-DVD group for insulting me. I never thought something as geeky and nerdy as a damn hd war would offend me. Well, I guess I don't need the HD-DVD ad on for my 360 now. I was going to buy it today oh well, i guess I will be one of the few people who buy bd for my ps3!!!!!!!!!!!

proving the point, another PS3 owner buying a crap load of BD movies, thank you Cyorg!

I almost expect some kind of a withdrawal statement on HDDVD's behalf to kiss ass to all the 360 gamers who own the add on player

Default BD Standalone players jumped to 63% in US

http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/ifa-2007/...eep-295150.php

One interesting statistics announced yesterday by BDA is that the BD standalone players have taken 63% share in the US market. It must be quite a shocker to the HD DVD promoters. They have repeatedly made noise about the standalone player sales which deliberately exclude PS3. With the release of the 2nd generation BD players like Sony S300 and Panasonic BD10A, HD DVD is losing even in the standalone player front. May be that is why they are kind of quiet today.

It was a rather unusual statement considering that Microsoft is currently marketing a 360 add-on capable of playing HD-DVD's.

You're another example that shows Graffeo doesn't know what the heck he's talking about.

It always seems to be about drumming up hatred toward Blu-ray, the PS/3, etc. with those guys.

When he complains about attach rates () he fails to see the huge marketing opportunity the PS/3 represents. Well to do (they paid $500-$1000 for these things) purchasers of premium disc media. And he wants to continually ditz and ignore them.

Instead, what he really wants is to try to sell combo discs to some guy that purchased a $149 player. Because that guy really wants to pay $5 extra over an already premium price for his movies.

All this s*it is sooooooo funny!
Between IFA this week and CEDIA next week, we can really THEN determine what comes out in the wash.
But I can say this about CEDIA: There WILL be a LOT of Blu announcements in Denver next week. Maybe that's why CEDIA is in Denver this year. Why? Because Blu is at the top!!!

Look at it this way - if gamers didn't buy movies, how come Blu-ray sells over twice as many discs? That would mean that the attach rate would be way better than HD DVD's.

In return I will give you "B.O.G" on Bluray! hehehe! hold on let me pull it out of my azz!!!

But seriously, if someone in the Denver area has extra passes please let me know!

Let's hope that the so-called "The Butt of IFA Jokes" also carries over to CEDIA here in the states.

Attach Rate is a new lame term dubbed by HDDVD to describe how many HDDVD movies each HDDVD players bring in sale....so he said something like "our HDDVD player have an attached rate of 4 movies per player bought....thats 7 times the bluray" ....does that even make any sense mathematically? So every BLURAY player owner has 5/8th of a movie? LOL....does that mean some bought multiple movies, and some others dropped $500 on a bluray player and ever bought a single movie? and the biggest question....unlike xbox add o, the PS3 is a major force for bluray, so our PS3 related bluray sales cannot and will not be ignored.

US market share of HD format for bluray is 63% for STAND ALONE PLAYERS, this is new data published today, and we are still 2:1 ratio in movie sales, and 90% of Japan, and 70% of europe had already picked BLURAY as the dominating format, hardware and software-movie-wise.

The only thing that could hurt us is a sub $200 HDDVD player at Walmart, we need to have at worst $200-$250 players ready to go by thanksgiving!!!

A $200 BD layer will be the ULTIMATE LAST NAIL in HDDVD's rusty coffin!!!
