This movie made me turn my sub down. Maybe it's the repetition, maybe it's how deep the bass is - but before long I could feel my head pounding in synch with the heartbeat..

i like that part aswell.. i havent played it extremely loud.. only where my system is leveled at 75db.. my rcvr reads -16db i also have no break up or port noise from my PA120..
but i prefer the sound the missles make as they are chasing the plane with the wife and kids inside..

have you had a chance t watch MONSTERS INC.??
Went back and got a time reference for you. The scene starts in Chapter 26 and the baby face thing appears at the 1 hr 39 min mark.

Last night I was flipping around and came across Blade 2 on HDNet Movies, and there's a scene when the cast hit up the 'House of Pain' and I was shocked at how much bass there was. Even later in that scene when Blade and the vampire chick were upstairs my sub was just humming away. Check it out if you can.

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King DVD: In Cirith Ungol [orc tower] Sam is returning the ring, the bass is EXPLOSIVE!
And the other 2.5 hours of the movie are great too.

try this out if you'd like,

"Sock detonation", Scene 12 (0:18:33)

disconnect your sub, turn off your front speakers, and see how low your center can go with the sock detonating.

you're lucky if you can get it to 'thump'.

Gave this a try today, and yes indeed, I get a good "thump" from the center speaker. Setting was LARGE and there were no serious problems after. Interesting. Then I tried it again with the system fully running, and it's definitely got some bass to it. Now for tomorrow, gonna listen to "A Bug's Life". Family movie night, so I'll play a little while watching.

good to hear. its just one of those things that can definitely show off a center channels capability. if ever, try it set on small, and set your crossover to your regular viewing, and see if youd like to recalibrate your system with it.

just a thought.

Terminator Salvation is ridiculous. It's gonna sound amazing on blu, can't wait! Pretty much any explosion, any scene with helicopters, airships, big robots, etc. sound awesome.

Default Movies That Show Off Your Subwoofer Thread

What movies do you recommend that show off your subwoofer's muscle?

-----------------

Twister This movie shakes your guts from nearly the first second all the way through to the credits. The picture quality is average for a BD. But the audio, in TrueHD, is mind blowing. You literally feel like you are in the middle of a tornado in a number of these scenes. The storm sounds, lightning, rain, et al are realistic and pan across your theatre in amazing ways.

Twister was actually really awesome. I remember not long ago, I got two Klipsch RF-42 for the rears. It felt like my HT was in a an actual twister. I can't belive noone brought this up but Top Gun has the strongest LFE I've ever head and felt. Everything in my house was shaking.

well I have re-discovered this one.... I have it on BD
my RCA PRO-SW120P left me with the feeling that I was missing something... the bass seemed thin and not natural...

single PA-120,,, now the depth charges sounded like explosions...

dual PA-120's..... I wont be playing this movie unless the neighbors arent home..... WOW! what a huge difference... had to turn the volume down......

At the beginning of Ironman after he makes the suit and he starts walking out of the cave. This scene will rattle your entire house!
