Shame it wasn’t in one of the more darker scenes. Would’ve easily passed as too much black crush. With it being directly over her chest, makes for an unintentional censoring.

Full disclosure, the Youtube clips these came from were totally washed out, so I lowered the brightness to help the color register better. In one instance--MCA opening titles--it was hard to see any color at all, so I added a smidge of saturation and it fell in line with the MCA end credits.

The ThornEMI--UK label?--was a hair more orange than the others...but yellower does seem to be a thing on these early releases. Still looking for a laser disc sample...

I actually had the time/energy today to sit down and compare the 4K release to a few of the releases I still have.

The orange tint to the opening "Haddonfield, IL Halloween 1978" is present on the 2012 SF release as others have mentioned and it's also present on the TV Cut as well. If only I still had MCA Unviersal tape I grew up with...

In any case, perhaps I've been mistaken and the yellow credits are actually closer to the original look In either case, I guess I won't sweat it too much.

My first impression was that Shout had gotten creative and re-graded Halloween II for its 2018 Steelbook. Then I wondered about the IP factor; if the earlier editions were sourced from it, maybe the '18 was just a glimpse of the film we hadn't had in a while (pre-dvd formats).

At any rate, surprised to see some yellow in the VHS credits; it'd be neat to compare the rest of the film, especially the scene with the blue-tinged, nighttime exterior (one of the more striking departures from the Universal master).

One way to prove I've got too much time on my hands, at least...

Has anyone contacted Scream/Shout Factory about a fix and replacement program?

They did a fix and replaced two discs in the Friday The 13th set.

Maybe they will be inclined to do so in this instance.

Received my copy today, and watched the 4K disc. The glitch is there. Just as Pamela Susan Shoop lowers the towel, revealing her (impressive) rack. What a place to glitch - must be one in a million. Checked the BD version, and no such glitch occurs. Otherwise, very happy with the set.

I did and so did several others and they just say it's a player problem

It's amazing to me how these companies try to deflect blame these days from their most loyal customers. If it were a player problem you wouldn't have 100 people on this forum alone complaining about it. I guess we all use the same player or every player has the problem! Either one you choose that's a ridiculous claim.

Arrow Video tried to do the same thing with Dune for like two months by gaslighting customers and are now replacing the discs. Give them time.

But Arrow is just replacing the discs with the same discs. They're blaming it on micro-scratches. They're not authoring new discs. I question if that will correct anything. I saw no micro-scratches on my disc. And we all got micro-scratches in the same spot?

It's a shame that these companies are passing the blame around instead of doing what it takes to actually correct the problem.

Man you’r all still complaining about a two second pixelation over some 80’s titties in a very old movie that is average at best.

I can understand if there was a constant problem throughout a movie due to a problem with manufacturing. A blink and you will miss it issue really does take the Bluray.com forum nut jobs cake. Up there with the ping pong ball missing in The Thing and a the issues with the Batman TV series.

Just check out and enjoy the movie. I can’t remember the last time I read a thread on this site that didn’t have someone complaining about an issue with the disk. Colour timing, sound, aspect ratio, the plethora of other artefacts, ghosting blah blah blah blah.

I watched The Ten Commandments UHD the other day and at some point it glitched for a second. It’s technology. Stuff glitches. Not going on some forum to complain about it and demand a reissue and carry on. It was two seconds.

You all going Karen on this. You need to speak to the Jesus manager of Bluray issues please. Pump the breaks. Undertake some mindfulness exercises. Have some booze. I suggest Porn Hub or just watch an old copy of the movie if you REALLY need to see those titties unglitched.

I was afraid of that, my disc is flawless, so getting a replacement will be pointless. The Halloween II disc however, they can fix that easily and press new ones.
