Does anyone know if the AUS release of 'Pitch Black' is the same as the US 'Unrated' version? I just bought it.

Check the running time on IMDB, thats a good way to tell.

The Unrated version is U.S. only.

The exact runtime for the AUS Pitch Black Blu-Ray is 1:48:14 . It must be the Theatrical version, as the Imdb.com lists the Unrated as 112min, so when you adjust for frames/blu-ray , it would still need to be longer.

Bes the question, is the US one region locked. I don't think Universal (who made Pitch Black) from memory did this often.

the AUS is region free, and, according to this site, the US is region free too.

I've got a region-B PS 3 here in the UK, and I can confirm that both US Riddick discs are region-free AND contain all versions. It was also cheaper for me to import them than buy them here, even with the current exchange rates!

US versions are region free and contain both cuts. Pitch black uses seamless branching but riddick has two seperate who encodes for each version. Why they did not use seamless branching for riddick I do not know.
