Judy Hicks from Scream 4 is in Scream 5 so it's safe to say the new movie isn't erasing anything.

The directors have made it clear that they are trying to be respectful to Wes Craven's legacy so I don't think they would erase anything that he has created in the Scream franchise.

Not a huge fan of how dark the posters are. You can barely see them. Same with the first poster of Ghostface. Turn that brightness up!!!

Ya, Scream 4 should’ve been a run of the mill soft-reboot called “Scream” that falsely markets the original characters as the leads when it’s unlikely to be the case in the actual film.

Scream 4 did NOTHING with Gale and Dewey. They were just there for the sake of being there and had no impact on the story. Regardless of the size of their roles, at least Scream 2022 seems to be using the legacy cast with purpose. I get the feeling they have actually advanced and I’m curious to see where they are all at at this point in their lives and how they have changed. Sid has been great in all 4 movies so far but the Gale and Dewey we got in Scream 4 felt tired and like shadows of their former selves. And at least this marketing campaign is highlighting the fact that the audience loves these characters and wants to see them no matter what.

Seriously I’ve been avoiding all trailers and footage and some idiot posted a pic of that scene on Twitter and stated exactly who it is. Now no matter what I am expecting that to skew how I watch the movie.

I think Syd will be the killer. She's fed up of being the victim and decides to steal the limelight for herself. OK, that's a stupid idea. But I've run out of possible options for keeping these characters alive.
