My copy is showing up tomorrow, but much of my excitement has been extinguished.
I’ve never seen you excited about anything. Always bitter and having jabs at members like you are above them. With how high and mighty you talk to other members, maybe just your copy will be fine?

Will hold my judgement until the end of the week, which will give the insider plenty time to look into this and offer a solution.

If no solution, then will be getting a refund and chalk it up as a disappointment.

Don’t worry. If he was being sarcastic, joking or serious, TYL will find a way to belittle him.

Ahhh I guess you already have him on ignore due to his toxic posts and me quoting him, makes it visible. I’ll add him to ignore now.

Didn’t realise I was spreading his toxicity to people who had already had enough of him. My apologies.

The perfect solution, in a perfect world, to deal with a troll like TenYearLurker is a charity boxing match.

Both of us lace up the gloves and settle it like gentlemen under Queensbury rules. Live stream it at $5 per ticket. 20% goes to Blu-Ray.com. 80% goes to a chosen charity. Whoever loses by KO has to give $100 dollars to the losers chosen charity.

Stops trolls from running their mouth. Blu-Ray.com gets some running cost money and 2 charities benefit. I’m going to add TYL to ignore now to keep the peace but if he wants to do the above, send me a PM and we can arrange something like gentlemen.

Barndoor, since you are the man at keeping track of possible titles, under the current Universal deal, does Uncle Buck still stand a chance of release or do the stats make it not currently possible?

Seems to be out as things stand unfortunately. If the information given by the Insider was correct, there's one more 80s title to come, a title from 1981 previously released on Blu-ray. Though Zoot Suit is the only possibility I can come up with, which seems a curious title to double dip on. Maybe there's something I'm missing?

I thought that was the case but I was hoping I remembered wrong. Maybe it can be picked up on the next deal. I’m struggling to think of another 1981 title that it could be myself.

Well, since I just missed the boat on a coupon for some discs I wanted at Deepdiscount, I may as well put the money towards a larger order at the Kino sale.

Do Kino ever split orders up in more boxes? What I mean is, they have these small boxes that hold 6-8-10 Blu-Rays or so. If you order more, do they then use larger boxes and ship it all together or split up your order in several of the small boxes?

It's an important point for me, as I have to go through a re-shipper and pay an import fee (for handling the import taxes) per box, when I have it shipped on to me here in Denmark.

If everything is guaranteed to ship together, all is well. If I risk them splitting up my order in two or more boxes, any savings from the sale would probably disappear due to the extra handling fees I would have to pay the courier.

I'm pretty sure Kino released a noir, heist, or crime movie - something along those lines - set during Christmas or another holiday. I think it was from the 1940s but possibly earlier or possibly later. I remember it having a greenish or reddish cover, but that could be wrong. (It's not Christmas in July or I Walk Alone.)

Try as I might, I can't find it on Kino's site or this site when isolating the search to Kino Lorber. I've also looked up every old time star I can think of, but nothing pops for any of them.

I am now wondering if it's a release Kino distributes for another label instead of one of their own, but I don't know. It's also possible it's OOP by now, but I still want this mystery solved.

Does anyone know what the hell I'm talking about, or did I hallucinate the whole thing?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
There's a film called Mr. Soft Touch. Don't know if Kino ever released it or not. Glenn Ford is a crook on the run. He ends up hiding out at some place for disadvantaged kids or something. He helps out around the place. It's Christmas time. He falls for the social worker lady who runs the place. I seem to remember he's helping to put up Christmas decorations and stuff. Can't remember if other crooks are after him because he has the loot or not. I think cops catch up with him in the end. I think there's a heist because movie starts with Ford in a car trying to get away , maybe news bulletins on car radio, maybe trying to avoid roadblocks.

I looked it up. Ford comes back from war and gangsters have taken over his nightclub. Ford robs them. They are looking for him. He ends up in police custody and released to the social worker. This is all taking place around Christmas Eve. Some boat that Ford wants to get on to leave country leaves on Christmas Eve. At one point Ford hires some guys to play Santa and hand out toys to the disadvantages kids. The gangsters he robbed catch up with him in the end and he gets shot.

Can only speak for my own orders but when relatives have ordered 25+ discs, they have always came in one large box. Hope this helps.

Coming to DVD and Blu-ray February 8th from Kino Lorber!

France
Starring Léa Seydoux, Blanche Gardin, Benjamin Biolay, Emanuele Arioli
Directed by Bruno Dumont

Léa Seydoux (No Time to Die) brilliantly holds the center of Bruno Dumont’s (Li’l Quinquin) unexpected, unsettling new film France, which starts out as a satire of the contemporary news media before steadily spiraling out into something richer and darker. Never one to shy away from provoking his viewers, Dumont casts Seydoux as France de Meurs, a seemingly unflappable superstar TV journalist whose career, home life, and psychological stability are shaken after she carelessly drives into a young delivery man on a busy Paris street. This accident triggers a series of self-reckonings, as well as a strange romance that proves impossible to shake. A film that teases at redemption while refusing to grant absolution, France is tragicomic and deliciously ambivalent—a very 21st-century treatment of the difficulty of maintaining identity in a corrosive culture.

Includes:
*Optional English subtitles
*Trailers

The director of Miracle Mile and Cherry 2000 said both films are being remastered and reissued - are these happening via Kino?
