It should have all the same extras on the BD. If it's from the same master as the BD, it might even have the same disc.

I don't know but I think the version you bought is based on the same transfer as the 2013 40th Anniversary Edition bluray. Or did Kino tweak it again?

I guess if your disc is the same as the 2013 version then that's more than 8 years old so a brand new 4K release may seem more appealing from that point of view?

If you also got a slipcover it should be easy to sell (if you want the 4K).

It's also possible this doesn't come out until October '22 since there is release date on the announcement, making it 2 years out from Kino's blu-ray.

It won't be from Kino Lorber, since they don't have any deals with WB. WB might do it themselves.

Who's looking to overpay for a slipcover? I just bought it in the sale for $10.99 and it still came with a slip.

Lucky you...and many who have received it without a slipcover may be interested. The slipcovers are not produced indefinitely.

Glad I never bought the Blu-ray. A dick move by Kino. Unless the 2020 Blu-ray was to test the waters for a 4K. But they probably could have just found the sales stats of Universal's Blu-ray.

I would be inclined to agree with this, but jkoffman already confirmed in this thread they just got a slipcover from the KL sale. That indicates to us that sales couldn't have been high enough on that particular release to indicate that this was crying out for a 4K more than other titles. Right? This year has taught me, how Kino operates is beyond my understanding lol.
