I got to see No Way Home this weekend, and the ONLY option I had for 3D was on a smaller screen (at my Showcase theater that has much better screens). And it was so dim and even slightly blue tinted that I could barely see the screen, let alone the 3D effects, which were minimal.

The stand out 3D moments were possibly on the bridge Ock scene, when Peter is standing in the rain, and the last moments. I also caught a few of Electro's bolts and the Strange sequence was okay, but it was NOTHING compared to the 3D in Doctor Strange.
Maybe it was the poorly lit projection in my theater and the fact that I could barely see anything in any darker scene, or it was the 3D. I just regret going to see it in 3D now since I could have seen it in a much better theater in 2D where the dimness wasn't a constant distraction. If they were to release this on 3D bluray, I'm certain it would look so much better on a 3D OLED at home. Oh, well.

Oh, and the person who posted that one spoiler scene a little more than halfway through the film, here that spoiled it for me, mentioning that spoiler had nothing to do with the 3D, nor was there much 3D in that moment. The only 3D before it was some electric bolts.

Personally, and it's not the popular opinion, but I wasn't crazy about the film. It was okay. Maybe it was the lower quality and having been spoiled for a certain scene, but I felt that some scenes were cut away too quickly, there wasn't enough time spent on certain villains (with SO MUCH of them being shown in trailers), the mid-credit scene upset me a bit, and the greatest highlight for me was the last 30mins for reasons I won't discuss here. For me, the original five films still far exceed this one, and I even enjoyed Homecoming more than this one....not to mention the 3D in that film was "Amazing". For the new films, nothing will beat the scene where Peter goes to pick up his prom date or the drive to the prom! Or even Mysterio's trippy sequence in Far From Home.

Overall, I felt that the 3D was on par with Venom 2 (and even Jumanji 2), maybe the reason they won't bother to release it. And if I didn't know better, I would swear that they ran these two films through an AI 3D program rather than work through it scene by scene, and frame by frame. Shang-Chi (which I just got to watch at home in 3D) was fantastic use of 3D! (And I actually got into the film a bit more than No Way Home).

Since the only chance for a 3D is RandomSpaceMedia, and that's a coin toss, it looks like 3D Bluray for this is not a great possibility...Sony doesn't like money that much I guess. At least WB does.

We need do our best so Sony release Venom Let There Be Carnage and No Way Home on their on or by RSM. These movies deserve 3D blus.

Reading Spider-Man: No Way Home is a gigantic cash cow for Sony makes it even harder for me that there is no 3D Blu-ray on the horizont. I can understand if a gigantic flop gets no 3D disc. But this makes me even more and more angry. Imagine a foodtruck on a crowded market with a lot of hungry people standing arround, dont open its window. Stupid!

The 3D showings near me are still pretty much selling out, same as the 2D showings, but area Cinemarks are either discontinuing the 3D on Thursday or already discontinued it this past Sunday.

Weirdly, Cinemark has also removed some 3D showings of Spiderman in order to squeeze in a couple for Sing 2, which they project will have only a couple days in 3D.

Despite the demand, when it comes to the physical release, it wouldn't surprise me if Sony channeled ''Marie Antoinette" and said let them watch 2D.

Watched this one in the only decent 3d theater within an hour. The 3d was pretty good, but would be better at home for sure. Really hoping a miracle happens with it!

Oh yeah, great movie otherwise! Revived my confidence in Marvel, but hard to see it keeping that momentum after the next Strange film...

How is
[Show spoiler]Garfield
in this?

I started watching
[Show spoiler]TASM
and it seems like the past 9 years of criticism are right:
[Show spoiler]Spiderman
acts like a jerk, talks like (pg13) Deadpool, and is almost like the villain of the film.

(And why are there so many stereotypically non-academically-minded jocks & artists at a science magnet school that is a feeder for OsCorp?)

[Show spoiler]Garfield and Dafoe stole the show imo.

I avoid this entire site two days before I saw the movie. I hate the annoying autoplay videos with a passion. I also avoided YouTube as well. You have to avoid them because there are a TON of spoilers to be had for this movie.

As for the movie I utterly loved it. Best CBM of the year by a country mile and I saw all of them, Marvel and DC.

That's not exactly a high bar to clear.

How does it compare to Spiderverse?

I stopped trailers after the trailer for Amazing Spider-Man. The trailer was an outline of the entire movie and what they didn't you could work out. After that, I was done with trailers. Since then I have avoided trailers like the plague. After watching movies I see how much the trailer reveals and it's shocking.

Yep, not a high bar. And the movie everyone was raving about (Suicide Squad) I pretty much hated.

Spiderverse is just a different movie, visually and tonally. I will say this movie (NWH) is amazing because when you consider the spinning plates they have to keep in the air the movie still keeps its emotional heart.

I'm a huge fan of Spiderverse (still highest rated Spider movie) and I'm curious where they are going with a 2 part movie

[Show spoiler]Agreed, and solidifies my opinion that Garfield is the best Spider-Man. There is a moment from Garfield in the movie that genuinely had me in tears.

I don't think there's anything wrong with posting spoilers in spoiler tags, whether it has to do with 3D or not, whether it's within a week of release or not. I personally will not abide by any such restriction unless the forum rules change.

If they are unmasked in e-mail notifications, well I do think that's something that should be looked at. Maybe a warning at the top of the e-mail that spoiler tags were used in the post. Maybe someone will make a site suggestion for something like that. In any case, it's not hard to stop e-mail notifications, and if you get them for a movie you don't want spoiled, don't be reading them I guess.

The spoiler in question (which was properly marked) isn't even a big spoiler anyway. So I don't think it's a big deal if anyone accidentally sees it. It won't ruin the movie for you in the slightest. The trailer might though! Glad I never watched it.

The movie is really good. Although I do think it's getting maybe a tad more praise than it deserves. For example, I liked think Infinity War and Endgame are better and also more emotionally rewarding movies.
[Show spoiler]What's really amazing to me is that this came together at all, and that they were able to get all the actors on board. The plot is totally bonkers and the logic is horrible, but I guess we're supposed to just go with it and enjoy the endorphins. I had no idea what was coming. Even after Garfield came out and another portal, I was still in disbelief that Tobey would come out, no way would they go there.

It's totally a fun ride though! A must see, including in 3D.

I thought the 3D looked like other recent Marvel movies. But 3D is pretty good in my theater so maybe it was just in my head. Nonetheless I think 3D is a must if you can find a showing, especially if this is the only time to see it.

If we do get a foreign 3D release, we thankfully won't have to worry about subtitles for this one. There's a little bit of foreign language but it wasn't translated on screen and someone summarizes what was said.

In the meantime I've pre-ordered UHD. Taking a 3D or bust attitude is not the right approach to have a for a movie this good. (my opinion!)

Flat versions i prefer watch them on TV... i have channels that give me the early movies.

If Sony, Disney, Universal or Warner want my money... deliver the 3D and i'll buy them. No 3D... movie channels and tv provider videoclub for free do the same, i don't need to buy inferior quality if 3D exists with those studios.

Well watched this in 4Dx and I must say it was disappointing…first, no SNOW or SMELL effects…2nd, while the motion of the seats during action scenes is fun and adds to the immersiveness, during non-action scenes like someone closing a door there is no need for quickly Jerking the seats…but regrettably this happens a lot in very inopportune moments when viewers are trying to absorb character building dialogue—only to be pulled out of the moment by a quick jolt from their moving seat…but worst of all was the DIM 3D picture! Not only did the darkness diminish the 3D effect…it also made many scenes so dark that entire elements in the scenes were just invisible…just awful!

It’s a shame that this is not being shown in 3D at Laser IMAX or DolbyCinema because it would be a much better 3D experience…and sadly it doesn’t appear that this is going to be available for the home either…what a way to end 3D for Spidey!

Yeah, that right there makes it sound like it's not a good 4DX theater... those two are pretty essential.

Why are comments about The Amazing Spider-Man 1 (2012) in spoilers? BTW, has the site done something to address how the email notification system disregards the spoiler tags?

On the 3D for NWH: is it good enough to show to 3D "normies"?
